Literary Week Celebrations – Foundation Years to Kindergarten, Shiv Nadar School Faridabad

The Literary Week celebrations at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad were a joyful blend of imagination, creativity, and a deep love for stories!

Learners in the Foundation Years brought their favourite books from home and eagerly shared them with their peers, speaking about beloved characters and memorable moments from their stories.

Nursery learners enjoyed a lively enactment of The Gruffalo, which helped them understand story elements such as characters, setting, problem, and solution. Inspired by the performance, they worked collaboratively to create their own stories — a delightful exercise in imagination and teamwork.

Kindergarten learners listened to the heartwarming tale Bear Snores On and explored its story structure. They then became young authors and illustrators, crafting their own storybooks with colourful drawings and original storylines.

The week truly celebrated the joy of reading and storytelling at SNS Faridabad, nurturing early literacy skills, self-expression, and creativity in every child.

Illuminating Learning: Grade 2 Explores the Science of Light

The Grade 2 learners at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad concluded their exploration of the theme ‘Light’ with an engaging hands-on project that beautifully blended creativity, problem-solving, and scientific inquiry on 26th September 2025.

After weeks of discovering how light travels, reflects, and interacts with materials, the young scientists were presented with an intriguing challenge — How will you light up three different rooms using one source of light?

Working in groups, they designed imaginative models using shoeboxes, coloured plastic sheets, and mirrors. Each shoebox represented a room, and the objective was to illuminate all three with a single light source. Learners experimented with mirrors to reflect and redirect light, while coloured sheets added vibrancy and helped them observe how light changes when passing through different materials.

The culmination was marked by a Learning Walk, where learners proudly presented their models to peers, observed each other’s designs, and reflected on how light behaves in varied situations. The process encouraged collaboration, built confidence, and allowed children to communicate their scientific thinking with clarity.

Through this immersive experience, learners discovered that light travels in straight lines and that reflective surfaces can effectively redirect it. The project brought joy, excitement, and a sense of accomplishment as their scientific ideas came alive in tangible, creative forms — truly reflecting the spirit of learning by doing at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad.

Mental Health Fest 2025: One Direction – Stronger, Kinder, Together

Shiv Nadar School Faridabad observed Mental Health Fest 2025 from 8th to 10th October, centered around the theme “One Direction – Stronger, Kinder, Together.” The week reflected the school community’s shared commitment to empathy, resilience, and collective well-being across students, teachers, parents, and staff.

The campus came alive with warmth and creativity through activities such as the “From Me to You” Bridge Activity, where seniors exchanged heartfelt letters with juniors, and the Mindful Walk, which featured gratitude and affirmation checkpoints. Corridors were adorned with vibrant displays of affirmations, art, and reflections — each carrying the message of unity and kindness.

In the Early Years and Primary, students engaged in activities like Helping Hands, Happy Mail, and Arrow Notes, learning how small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Middle and Senior Years students led well-being sessions, designed posters, wrote affirmation cards, and created gratitude walls — fostering openness, connection, and peer support.

Throughout October, classes across grades explored essential mental health themes such as self-awareness, perception-taking, and building healthy relationships with oneself and others. Students expressed their understanding through posters, poems, and slogans that promoted empathy and awareness among peers. An interdisciplinary collaboration with the library encouraged them to connect literature with emotional well-being and mindfulness — reflecting on how stories and characters model resilience and strength.

“Conversations that Matter” engaged students, teachers, and support staff in meaningful discussions on self-care practices and mental health. These dialogues encouraged reflection, expression, and the understanding that mental well-being is a shared journey within the community.

The Teachers’ Fest on 8th October brought faculty and staff together through art, games, music, affirmations, and laughter, reinforcing the importance of collective joy. The Green Day Celebration further symbolized hope, balance, and inclusiveness, with staff wearing green in solidarity for mental health awareness.

Parents were an integral part of the celebration through a three-part webinar series featuring experts Dr. Saurabh Mehrotra, Prachi Srivastava, and Gloria Burrett, focusing on informed parenting, balanced expectations, and family well-being.

The support staff joined in a heartwarming Well-being Samosa Party, celebrating their contributions and strengths with joy and gratitude.

In the Middle Years, students created a “Community Poster” — a collective art piece symbolizing unity, emotional expression, and belonging. Another highlight was “Affirmation Cards for the Unsung Heroes,” where students wrote personalized notes in Hindi to appreciate the school’s support staff.

Beyond structured sessions, spontaneous gestures like gratitude boards and informal reflections captured the essence of the fest — inclusivity, appreciation, and shared strength.

The celebration beautifully reminded everyone that when we walk together, every step feels lighter, every burden smaller, and every heart stronger — a true reflection of being Stronger, Kinder, Together.

Investiture Ceremonies 2025 – Nurturing Leadership at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad

The spirit of democracy, service, and responsibility came alive at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad through the Student Council Elections and Investiture Ceremonies 2025, held across the Primary and Senior School. The events celebrated the school’s commitment to nurturing young leaders who lead with empathy, integrity, and vision.

The Junior Student Council Elections offered learners from Grades 3 to 5 an engaging, hands-on experience of democratic leadership. The campaigning process infused the Primary Wing corridors with enthusiasm as students presented their ideas, articulated their goals, and rallied peers with creativity and respect. Through this process, they learned to communicate effectively, listen empathetically, and embody the values of fairness, teamwork, and collaboration.

The elections culminated in a grand Investiture Ceremony on 8th August 2025, attended by parents and faculty in the World Class Hall, North Block. The event began with a melodious performance by the school choir, followed by an address by Ms. Deblina Chakraborty, Principal, who emphasized the importance of democratic participation and the qualities that define true leadership.

The highlight of the morning was the formal investiture of the newly elected council members. Badges and sashes were conferred as symbols of trust and responsibility, and the young leaders took a solemn oath to uphold the school’s values and serve their peers with sincerity and commitment. The newly appointed captains expressed gratitude and promised to lead with courage and integrity. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, instilling a sense of pride and purpose among all present.

Earlier in the year, on 9th May 2025, the Investiture Ceremony for the Middle and Senior Years Student Council was held with great pride and enthusiasm in the World Class Hall, North Block. The ceremony marked the culmination of a democratic election process that empowered students to step into leadership roles within the school community.

Each elected member was felicitated and entrusted with responsibilities that extend beyond academics—serving as role models who uphold the school’s ethos of respect, collaboration, and excellence. The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the guidance and support of mentors and teachers who helped shape these young leaders’ journeys.

Both ceremonies reflected the school’s belief that leadership is not about position but about purpose — a journey of growth, empathy, and collective strength. Together, the Junior and Senior Student Councils of 2025 embody the promise of responsible citizenship and compassionate leadership at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad.

“Sid, the Seed” – A Joyful Learning Experience in Nursery

As the culmination of the theme “I Love Plants”, the Nursery learners at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad brought the story Sid, the Seed to life through a heart-warming enactment.

The children stepped into the roles of soil, seed, sun, rain, water, and even Sid’s little friends — a caterpillar and a spider — to dramatize how a tiny seed grows into a flourishing tree. Guided by their teachers, they vividly portrayed the journey from a resting seed in the soil to the moment it sprouts into a young plant, nourished by sunlight and rain.

The enactment helped learners understand what plants need to grow — soil, water, sunlight, air, and space — while nurturing teamwork, creativity, and appreciation for nature’s interdependence.

Ahead of the children’s presentation, the Nursery educators enacted Sid, the Seed as a prelude to the learners’ performance, setting the tone for a lively and meaningful learning experience.

The theme concluded with curiosity, joy, and a deepened connection to the natural world — a wonderful celebration of learning through imagination and play.
