Shiv Nadar School Faridabad launched the STEAM Conclave 2026 in partnership with Science Gallery Bengaluru and The Habitats Trust, bringing together Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics through the theme “Underwater Lives Matter”, aligned with UN SDG 14: Life Below Water.
The conclave aims to shift the narrative from merely “saving the ocean” to truly “understanding the ocean” by encouraging students to explore marine ecosystems through scientific inquiry, design thinking, empathy, and innovation. Students from Grades 6 onwards are participating in immersive learning experiences, expert interactions, interdisciplinary explorations, and collaborative projects focused on marine conservation and sustainability.
The month-long conclave, running from 15 April to 12 May 2026, is engaging students across campuses through STEAM periods, expert sessions, discussions, and hands-on explorations, leading up to the grand culmination on 13 May 2026 at Shiv Nadar School Faridabad.
The conclave commenced with an inaugural session at Shiv Nadar School Faridabad, where students from Grades 6 to 9 attended expert talks, performances, and interactive sessions centred around ocean conservation and marine biodiversity.
The inaugural keynote by Mr. Muralidharan Manoharakrishnan, Lead – Marine Species at WWF India, introduced students to Sea-Turtle Diversity and Conservation in India. Through films, discussions, and real-world conservation stories, students explored the importance of protecting marine ecosystems and reflected on the impact of human actions on underwater life.
Students were introduced to the central problem statement of the conclave:
“How might we use our knowledge, creativity, and technology to protect underwater life and create a healthier ocean for the future?”
The launch set the tone for a sustained month-long journey of inquiry, innovation, and environmental stewardship.
As part of the ongoing conclave engagements, students attended an enriching online session led by Dr. Isha Bopardikar, marine biologist and bioacoustician from IISER Tirupati. The session introduced learners to the hidden acoustic world of oceans and the role of sound in understanding marine life.
Students explored how scientists use Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) to study elusive marine mammals and understand underwater communication systems. The session encouraged learners to think critically about ocean noise pollution and the invisible ways in which marine ecosystems function.
Students further deepened their understanding of marine conservation through sessions on coral reef restoration led by Samhita Veda Acharya from the Andaman Islands.
The sessions highlighted the ecological significance of coral reefs, the challenges posed by climate change and pollution, and the importance of sustainable restoration efforts. Learners connected scientific concepts with real-world environmental challenges while exploring the interconnectedness of marine ecosystems.
As part of the STEAM Conclave engagements, Ms. Shilpa Khadse, Vice Principal – International Curriculum, Shiv Nadar School Faridabad, conducted an engaging and informative session on Fisheries, Aquaculture, and Wildcatch for Grade 9 students.
Students explored how fish are sourced through wildcatch and farming methods, the growing role of aquaculture in meeting global food demands, and the importance of sustainable practices in protecting aquatic ecosystems and marine biodiversity.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students asking thoughtful questions, engaging in meaningful discussions, and making strong real-world connections between environmental sustainability, food systems, and responsible consumption.
Adding another dimension to ecological understanding, students participated in an engaging session by Ms. Misha Bansal on the social lives of bees and ants.
Learners explored how these tiny organisms thrive through highly organised systems of cooperation, communication, and shared responsibility. The session encouraged students to reflect on collaboration, community living, and the role of every living organism within larger ecosystems.
A significant aspect of the conclave has been the active involvement of students through the Student Organising Committee. Students have been contributing across areas such as event planning, research, anchoring, creative media, design, logistics, and technical support, making the conclave truly “By the Students, For the Students.”
As the conclave progresses towards its culmination on 13 May 2026, students continue to engage in meaningful interdisciplinary learning experiences that strengthen critical thinking, environmental consciousness, creativity, and global citizenship. The conclave reflects Shiv Nadar School Faridabad’s commitment to experiential learning and nurturing socially responsible learners prepared to address real-world challenges.
As part of this approach, the Interhouse Extempore Auditions for Middle School students were conducted successfully on 8 and 15 April 2026. The auditions aimed to assess students’ speaking skills, spontaneity, clarity of thought, and confidence while expressing ideas before an audience. Students were evenly distributed across venues, and a range of topics was prepared in advance through topic chits to ensure fairness and variety in participation.
Following the auditions, the Middle School Interhouse English Extempore Competition was held on 24 April 2026 in the school auditorium. The event provided students with a dynamic platform to think on their feet, organise their ideas, and communicate effectively with confidence and conviction.
The competition was adjudged by Ms. Ambica, parent judge and an accomplished writer and speaker; Ms. Vidisha Berry, teacher judge and an experienced MUN debater; and Samreen Arora, student judge. Their thoughtful feedback and encouragement added immense value to the experience for participating students.
Learners showcased enthusiasm, originality, and strong communication skills while presenting their thoughts on a variety of topics. Two winners were selected from each house at every grade level.
The initiative reflected Shiv Nadar School Faridabad’s commitment to experiential and skill based learning by creating authentic opportunities for learners to strengthen communication, self expression, leadership, and confidence in meaningful and engaging ways.

Ambedkar Jayanti was observed to honour the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Constitution of India and a visionary advocate for social justice and equality. Students were introduced to his remarkable life journey, his contributions towards building an inclusive society, and his enduring vision of liberty, dignity, and equal rights for all.
A presentation based on the life and work of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar was showcased, helping students understand his role in shaping modern India and his lifelong efforts against social discrimination. Students actively participated through speech presentations, sharing their reflections and thoughts inspired by the teachings and values of Babasaheb Ambedkar.
The engagement encouraged learners to reflect on empathy, fairness, inclusion, and responsible citizenship, aligning with Shiv Nadar School Faridabad’s commitment to nurturing socially conscious and informed learners through experiential and value based education.
At Shiv Nadar School Faridabad, storytelling is thoughtfully integrated into the Early Years pedagogy to nurture language development, imagination, listening skills, and emotional connection through experiential learning.
Foundation Year learners recently participated in an engaging Hindi story presentation of ‘शेर और चूहा’. The session was designed as an interactive storytelling experience where teachers brought the story to life through expressive enactments, voice modulation, gestures, and the use of simple props and actions.
The lively presentation helped learners meaningfully connect with the characters and understand the sequence of events in an engaging and age appropriate manner. Through this immersive experience, children strengthened their listening and comprehension skills, expanded their Hindi language exposure, and developed imagination and expressive thinking.

At Shiv Nadar School Faridabad, Earth Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and purpose across all grades, as learners engaged in meaningful experiences that deepened their understanding of environmental responsibility, sustainability, and their connection with nature.
Learners from Foundation Years to Kindergarten explored and appreciated the Earth and its diversity through a range of age appropriate and immersive experiences. Foundation Year learners connected with nature through a guided nature walk where they observed plants and birds, followed by discussions on ways to care for the Earth and its living beings.
Nursery learners participated enthusiastically in riddles, an action song, and a nature walk, and planted a sapling to foster a sense of appreciation and responsibility towards the environment.
Kindergarten learners deepened their understanding through a hands on seed ball activity that encouraged environmental care and sustainable practices. The celebrations concluded with the Mudumalai and Ranthambore assembly presentations, where learners showcased their appreciation for nature and wildlife through vibrant expressions and performances.
On the occasion of Earth Day, the Early Years at Shiv Nadar School Faridabad launched Earth-minded Learning 2.0, an initiative aligned with SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production. The programme commenced with an introductory session designed to familiarise learners with the ideas of mindful living, sustainability, and responsible choices in everyday life.
As part of the initiative, learners were introduced to eight experiential learning baskets — Kaagaz ki Duniya, Moolgyan, Chhoti si Rasoi, Kashidakari, Vigyan ke Karishme, Sewa aur Srijan, Kahaniyon ka Pitaara, and Haathon ka Kamaal. These baskets will be explored on a rotational basis throughout the academic year, offering children rich, hands on learning experiences connected to sustainability and environmental awareness.
Through activities such as setting up water baths for birds, exploring soil, engaging in paper mâché, and participating in other mindful experiences, learners will gradually develop a deeper sense of awareness, responsibility, empathy, and sustainable living practices. The initiative aims to nurture environmentally conscious learners who understand the importance of caring for the world around them through meaningful everyday actions.
Grades 1 and 2 celebrated Earth Day through engaging and reflective experiences that encouraged awareness, gratitude, and responsibility towards the environment. Learners explored the idea that the Earth provides for all our needs and reflected on how their everyday choices can positively impact the planet.
Grade 2 learners participated in a thoughtful Ladder of Inference activity where they analysed real life situations, discussed possible solutions, and articulated simple yet meaningful pledges as mindful Earthlings.
Grade 1 learners expressed their understanding through creative presentations, songs, and a “Promise Tree,” reinforcing their commitment to caring for the Earth.
The celebrations culminated in a hands on “From Seed to Plate” activity in the Moolgyan vegetable patch, where learners sowed seeds and experienced the values of patience, responsibility, and nurturing nature.
Earth Day celebrations in Grades 3 to 5 focused on sustainability, creativity, and conscious action. Students enthusiastically participated in creating “Best Out of Waste” products, learning the importance of recycling and mindful consumption.
They further explored sustainable practices by repurposing old T shirts into eco friendly bags, encouraging the idea of reducing waste through simple everyday actions.
A plastic collection drive was organised as part of the celebrations, with students actively bringing plastic waste from their homes to promote awareness about responsible waste management.
A key highlight of the event was an inspiring session by guest speaker Tulika Suneja, Founder of Green Hands, who spoke to students about sustainable living and the collective impact of small conscious actions in protecting the planet.
Students across the Middle and Senior Years participated in a range of meaningful activities, discussions, and collaborative projects focused on environmental awareness and responsibility. Through creative engagement and reflective conversations, learners explored the importance of protecting the Earth and adopting sustainable practices in their daily lives.
The celebrations encouraged students to become thoughtful global citizens and inspired them to take small but impactful steps towards building a greener and more sustainable future.
Earth Day, celebrated globally on 22 April each year, serves as a reminder of the urgent need to conserve natural resources, reduce pollution, and address environmental challenges such as climate change, deforestation, and loss of biodiversity. The International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) continues to nurture globally minded learners, and this was reflected in the outstanding performance of our students at the World Scholar’s Cup (WSC).
The World Scholar’s Cup is an internationally recognized academic competition that celebrates curiosity, critical thinking, and collaborative learning. It brings together students from across the world to engage in a range of intellectually stimulating events, including debates, collaborative writing, quizzes, and team challenges across diverse subjects such as literature, history, science, arts, and global issues.
Twelve of our MYP students participated in the Mohali Regional Round held on 1 and 2 May 2026, where they demonstrated exceptional enthusiasm, teamwork, and academic rigour. The competition provided them with a platform to think beyond the classroom, engage in interdisciplinary learning, and develop key skills such as communication, analysis, and creative problem-solving.

Ruheen Lamba (MYP 3) emerged as a Scholar Champion (Gold), while Rishi Talwar (MYP 4) secured a Silver, reflecting excellence across multiple event formats. This achievement highlights not just strong subject knowledge, but the ability to collaborate effectively, make interdisciplinary connections, and think critically under pressure.
A particularly commendable milestone is that all four participating teams have qualified for the Global Round, marking a significant step forward in their academic journey.
This experience has been invaluable in fostering confidence, global awareness, and a genuine love for learning among our students, aligning closely with the ethos of the IB MYP.
Shiv Nadar School Faridabad proudly congratulates Aruj Sahai student of Grade 4 for his remarkable achievements in chess tournaments held recently at both interschool and state levels.
Aruj delivered an outstanding performance at the DPSG Cup U9 Interschool Chess Tournament, where he secured the 1st Position and emerged as the champion. Representing the school, he won all 5 out of 5 rounds, demonstrating exceptional focus, strategy, and consistency throughout the tournament.
Adding to this achievement, Aruj participated in the 30th Haryana State Chess Championship in the Under 9 category, held in Jhajjar district on 9th and 10th May 2026. Competing against nearly 90 players from across Haryana, Aruj secured an impressive 4th Position in the state with a score of 5.5/7. He was awarded a cash prize of ₹1,500 for his performance.
Entering the tournament as one of the top rated players and favourites in the category, Aruj continued to display remarkable composure and determination through a highly competitive field. His achievements reflect dedication, discipline, and a strong competitive spirit at a very young age.

Ruhaan Taneja student of Grade 4 – Corbett, Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad, secured the 3rd position in the Under-9 Boys Category at the DPSG Chess Tournament held on 27 April. Competing among 30 participants, he achieved an impressive score of 4 out of 5 points and was awarded a trophy for his performance.
Ruhaan has been playing chess since the age of 6 and has participated in several District, State, and National level competitions. His continued commitment to the sport reflects steady growth and a deepening engagement with competitive chess.
Anairrah Kalra from IB MYP 2 at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad, proudly represented India at the 6th Acropolis International Wushu Championship 2026.
Competing on an international platform against athletes from 24 countries, she delivered an outstanding performance at the championship held at Sunel Arena Stadium, Athens (Greece) from 12 to 16 March 2026.
In the U-15 Girls Nanquan (Traditional Event) category, Anairrah competed against 9 international participants and secured the Bronze Medal, marking a proud moment for India.
She further competed in the Double Weapon Routine category, which featured 12 strong participants. With remarkable determination, confidence, and skill, Anairrah delivered an exceptional performance and secured the Gold Medal, outperforming competitors including a Greek athlete.

Demira Gera of Grade 5 at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad, secured 2nd position (Silver Medal) at the All India Level Wise Gymnastics Competition (Level 2), held on 3 April 2026 in Dwarka, Delhi.
