Kabir Bajaj, a student of Grade 5 Kanha at Shiv Nadar School Faridabad, has won a Gold Medal in the Obstacle Robo Race event under the age 12 category at the prestigious Mekathalon, held at Orchid International School, Gurgaon.
The Mekathalon is a renowned robotics competition that brings together talented young minds to showcase their skills in technology and innovation. Kabir's outstanding performance in the event has earned him the opportunity to represent the North Zone in the final competition, which will be held in Bangalore on November 23 and 24, 2024.

Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad proudly participated in this year’s prestigious Space Settlement Design Competition (SSDC), a globally recognized event that challenges young minds to think boldly and creatively about humanity’s future in space. Two dedicated teams from SNS rose to the occasion, working on "Aresam," an intricate project aimed at designing a space settlement bridging operations between Earth and Mars. From handling cargo to managing passenger transfers and supporting interplanetary operations, this theme required students to design an advanced settlement that could address the complex logistics of space transportation.

July 2024: Both teams embarked on their SSDC journey with an introduction to the “Aresam” theme, which involved envisioning a futuristic settlement in space. With structured guidance, they delved into initial discussions on the logistics of living beyond Earth and the challenges of long-term space habitation.
August 2024: Research began in earnest, with students exploring structural design, community infrastructure, automation, human safety, and other essential elements for space living. Collaborative brainstorming led to draft proposals filled with innovative ideas.
September 2024: In preparation for the competition, students reviewed their drafts and engaged in peer-feedback sessions. Team members tested their designs, simulating potential challenges that could arise in a space environment and finding solutions to ensure the safety and sustainability of their proposed settlement.
October 2024: Final proposals were submitted on October 21, with Team 1 achieving a place in the Quarter-Finals—a noteworthy milestone, as they ranked among the top 10 national teams in this highly competitive round. With the Quarter-Finals hosted in Delhi-NCR, Team 1 aimed to secure a spot in the semi-finals, set to take place in Dubai.

On 11th December 2024, Shiv Nadar School Faridabad hosted a dynamic and interactive STEAM session for Grade 5 students on the topic 'The Electromagnetic Spectrum of Light.' The session was led by Mr. Sam Gibbs, an internationally renowned science educator celebrated for his expertise and ability to inspire young learners through hands-on, inquiry-based approaches to science.
The session aimed to demystify the concept of the electromagnetic spectrum with a particular focus on visible light, allowing students to connect theoretical knowledge to real-world applications. Mr. Gibbs introduced the topic with an engaging explanation of the electromagnetic spectrum, emphasizing the importance of visible light as a small yet significant part of this spectrum.

The RoboCup Regional Championship is an exhilarating platform where students from across the region showcase their talents in coding, engineering, and problem-solving. In this high-energy competition, teams design robots to play soccer, execute rescue missions, and conquer intricate challenges, including the Maze category.
