Science Week 2019
“Science is not only a discipline of reason but, also, one of romance and passion.”
-Stephen Hawkings
Science Week is a fruit of this passion revelled through a weeklong celebration of Science and Technology culminating into a grand melee of experiential learning. This Year ‘Science Week’ was observed from November 11-15, 2019. We believe that the true essence of learning is when the philosophy seamlessly integrates with the lives of the learner, powering their interpretation of everything that goes around them by constantly relating to their environment. Many eminent schools from NCR and Delhi Region participated in the Science Week this year.
The week began with Vigyantram – a National level championship based on latest technological advancement, with a series of technical workshops in association with Aakaar, IIT Bombay. Interactive workshops were conducted by professionals from IIT Bombay on two consecutive days on the topic: ‘Mobile Controlled Robotics Arm’.
In the second edition of Physics Conclave 2019, the students were engaged in sessions conducted by Dr. Mick Storr, Scientist at ATLAS, CERN along with Dr. Archana Sharma, Physicist at CERN brought experimental physics alive for everyone to experience some mind-boggling cosmic phenomena.
The week entailed various other workshops and activities such as Physics Capacity Building programme, Helicopter Making workshop and a session on Chandrayan Mission 2. The hands on experiments and out of the box thinking helped students delve deeper into the realm of Physics, understand the meaning of soft landing, discuss about Pragyan Rover and explore the technical aspects of important concepts in the field of science and technology.
