In the Limelight: Theatrical Brilliance

Students from Middle Years 1 and 2 of Shiv Nadar School, Chennai, made a stellar impression at the second edition of “Into the Spotlight”, one of Tamil Nadu’s largest inter-school theatre festivals, held at Union Christian Matriculation School, Chetpet. The event brought together young talents from across the state to celebrate the performing arts.
A team of 23 students represented the school, captivating the audience with their exceptional performances across three categories:
Group Drama:
The students performed Style Repeats, a powerful play addressing sexism and workplace stereotypes faced by women leaders. The performance challenged the undue focus on appearance over abilities, leaving a lasting impact on the audience.
Spoken Word Poetry:
A poignant piece titled Skin I Wear shed light on the struggles of adolescents as they learn to embrace and feel comfortable in their own skin, resonating deeply with the audience.
Monologue:
The comic monologue featured a humorous yet thought-provoking scenario imagining the largest mountain in the world being cut down to size, showcasing creativity and stage presence.
The school’s efforts were recognized with multiple accolades, including 3rd place in Group Drama and individual honors for Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress Runner-Up.
This remarkable achievement highlights the students' talent, creativity, and dedication to the performing arts. Congratulations to all participants for their outstanding performances and for making the school proud!
