Head - Senior Years
Chinar Banga is the Head of Senior Years at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad, where she provides academic and pastoral leadership for the senior grades. A committed educator with over 15 years of experience in teaching and school leadership, she brings depth, clarity and a strong student-centred approach to her role. She holds an Honours degree in Microbiology from the University of Delhi, along with postgraduate qualifications in Education, Microbiology, and English. Her academic preparation is complemented by professional qualifications in Educational Leadership and Teaching & Learning from Cambridge, as well as CENTA certification, reflecting her commitment to continuous professional growth and high standards in education.
Chinar began her career as a Middle School Science teacher and later transitioned briefly into teacher education after qualifying the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Lectureship. However, her enduring passion for working directly with children and schools drew her back to classroom teaching, where she has continued to shape meaningful learning experiences for students.
A part of the Shiv Nadar School community for over seven years, Chinar is a homegrown leader who has contributed significantly to the growth and strengthening of the Senior School. She has previously served as Grade Lead for three consecutive years and as Controller of Examinations, gaining deep experience in academic planning, assessment systems and board readiness. Under her leadership, the Senior Years have consistently demonstrated strong academic outcomes alongside a focus on student well-being and holistic development.
Her educational philosophy centres on preparing students with the skills, mindsets and resilience required to thrive in a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous) world. She strongly believes that education must balance academic rigour with values, reflection, and agency, and often draws inspiration from Rabindranath Tagore’s words: 'Reach high, for the stars lie hidden in you. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal.'
Known among colleagues for fostering a culture of trust, collaboration, and empathy, Chinar is a firm advocate of collective responsibility and reflective practice. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her children, reading, and listening to music.
