Career Symposium
On 27 Nov 2019, the CGC invited subject experts and speakers from Indian institutes to address parents and students. The objective was to give parents and students a chance to understand the pathways and the way forward with subjects and admission eligibility, requirements and courses offered at different Indian universities. The speakers also guided students about subjects they can pursue at both undergraduate and graduate level.
There were five separate sessions from different streams.
The scientist from the National Institute of Immunology (NII) explained about different subject combinations with biology, which can be pursued in future, and various careers associated with this subject.
The speaker from National Institute of Design (NID) spoke about the programs offered, the eligibility requirements and preparation of a portfolio. She also shared her journey as a design expert and 'Design as a profession'.
Economics and Acturial Sciences session had two speakers who narrated their journey at Delhi University and JNU and outlined the scope of Economics as a subject.
Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies has eight campuses in India, the representative talked about the selection procedure NMIMS-NPAT 2020 national level entrance test. He also gave an insight into the field of data sciences, Artificial intelligence, Technology Management, Design, Liberal Arts etc. at NMIMS.
University of Delhi - The speaker addressed the students on Courses offered at the University of Delhi, the eligibility criteria, admission process, the complexity, entrance exams, and the recent changes in the admission process.
