Aruj Sahai, a Grade 3 Sariska student at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad, continues to shine with remarkable consistency and grit across multiple prestigious chess tournaments this year. His steady discipline and strategic clarity have placed him among the most promising young talents in the circuit.

Faridabad District Chess Championship – AFCA
Aruj participated in two categories and delivered exceptional performances against strong fields:

  • Under-11 Category (5 April 2025): Playing in a higher age group, he won 4 out of 6 games, securing 5th position out of 37 participants and earning a medal.
  • Under-9 Category (6 April 2025): With a stellar 4.5/6 score, he finished 4th among 47 players and was awarded a medal.

The awards were presented by Cabinet Minister Mr. Vipul Goyal.

Recent Achievements

  • The Gambits Cup, Delhi (30 Nov 2025):
    Aruj dominated the U-8 Rapid category, winning all 6 rounds to become the U8 Champion.
  • Late Shri R. N. Sood Memorial Inter-School Chess, Faridabad (1 Nov 2025):
    In the U9 category, he secured 3rd position with an excellent 4/5 score.
  • SRCA Halloween Special U8 Rapid (26 Oct 2025):
    Aruj placed 4th, scoring 4/5 in a field of 28 participants.
  • GSA Chess Festival U10 Rapid (12 Oct 2025):
    Competing again in a higher age bracket, he secured 4th position with 3/4 wins.
  • C.S. Sharma Memorial U9 Chess (5 Oct 2025):
    Aruj earned 2nd place with an impressive 4/5 score in one of the reputable tournaments of the region.
  • SNS Wildcats Cup (12 Sep 2025):
    He achieved 2nd position in the U10 category across all three SNS campuses.

State- and National-Level Pathway

  • SGFI State Championship (8 Nov 2025):
    Representing Faridabad district, Aruj’s team secured 2nd position in this prestigious state-level tournament.
  • SGFI District – State Selection (21 Aug 2025):
    Competing in the U11 category, he scored 5/6, placing among the Top 5 out of 65+ participants—qualifying for the Haryana State SGFI Championship.
  • CBSE North Zone II Games (13–15 Aug 2025, Charkhi Dadri):
    Selected in the U11 SNS Faridabad team, Aruj delivered 5 wins and 1 draw (5.5/6), contributing significantly as the team finished 5th among 24 schools.
