3rd Wildcats Interschool Invitational Cricket Tournament

Cricket is a religion unto itself in India that transcends any and all barriers. Eight teams from various schools were invited for the tournament. Each ‘knockout’ match was of 15 overs and a 20 overmatch in the semis and final matches.

The 1 st Semis were played between Shiv Nadar School Noida and Shiv Nadar SchoolGurgaon. The latter won the toss and elected to bat first, running the scoreboard to 285 in 20 overs and routing the other team by 225 runs. Vibhor Gaur was the “Man of the Match” with his impressive 222 runs of 66 balls (28 sixes & 11 fours).

The 2nd Semi-final was between Shiv Nadar School Faridabad and The Heritage SchoolGurgaon. The Heritians won the toss electing to bat first, they scored 287 in 20 overs and then defeated their opponents by 222 runs. The “Man of the Match” was Arnavwith 45 runs. The Final clash was between The Heritage School Gurgaon and Shiv Nadar School, Gurgaon; the home team routed their worthy opponents. Heritage School won the toss choosing to bat first. They were restricted to 167 in 20 overs and Shiv Nadar SchoolGurgaon won with eight wickets to spare. Aritar Malik was adjudged as the “Man of
the Match” with 25 runs in 22 balls. The Best Bowler was Hridaan Modi of Shiv Nadar School Gurgaon; his tally was 6wickets in 8 overs giving only 46 runs.Vibhor Gaur’s (Shiv Nadar School Gurgaon), impressive score in the semis; 222 runs in 66 balls, not out and 119 runs in 45 balls in the finals, along with 3 wickets in 4 overs giving only 12 runs and a run-out, earned him the title Cricket is a religion unto itself in India that transcends any and all barriers.
