The 29th Oliphant Memorial Debate at welhams Boy's school

The 29th Oliphant Memorial Debate was organized by Welham Boy's School  Sixteen teams including Welham Girl's School participated  Shreaya Malhotra and G.S. Charita of Grade 12, and Piya Sharma and Drisha Dadheech of Grade 10 represented Shiv Nadar School, Gurugram. Through three grueling preliminary rounds of British Parliamentary format of debating, Shiv Nadar School managed to qualify for the semi finals. The topics varied from the humanization of robots to opposing minority institutions to whether developing countries should be allowed to sell their natural resources to salvage international monetary debt. The semi finals topic being a national curriculum for all school students, the students put up a good fight  However, Drisha Dadheech managed to bag the Best Debater Overall award along with a cash prize while Piya Sharma won the Most Promising Debater award along with a cash prize.
