SNSFMUN 2025 – “Peace in Pieces: Addressing Modern Conflict and Fragile States”
Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad hosted the much-awaited SNSFMUN 2025 on 24th and 25th September, bringing together over 300 delegates for two days of rigorous debate and diplomacy.
Under the theme “Peace in Pieces: Addressing Modern Conflict and Fragile States”, delegates engaged in thought-provoking discussions across multiple committees, tackling pressing global issues such as climate displacement, nuclear diplomacy, digital warfare, and humanitarian crises.
The conference was guided by an experienced Executive Board and supported by a vibrant International Press Corps, which documented the dynamic exchanges and resolutions that emerged over the weekend. The Opening and Closing Ceremonies celebrated the spirit of collaboration and leadership, featuring powerful speeches, an evocative short film, and awards recognizing exceptional delegates.
This year, SNSFMUN partnered with The DAIS, led by Mr. Keshav Gupta, an entrepreneur and development expert dedicated to youth empowerment and global sustainability. Mr. Gupta, founder of The Dais and the International Centre for Sustainable Development, has been recognized with the Karmaveer Chakra (2018) by iCONGO in partnership with the United Nations, and the Global Green Schools Award (2017) at the UNGA Climate Action Week in New York. A TEDx Speaker and nominee for the 2021 Tällberg-SNF-Eliasson Global Leadership Prize, he holds degrees in Economics and Law from the University of Delhi and is a Norec Alumni (Government of Norway).
The event stood out for its intellectual rigor, professionalism, and passion — embodying the essence of global citizenship and the spirit of Model UN at Shiv Nadar School Faridabad.
Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad Honoured at FICCI ARISE Excellence Awards 2025
Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad has been recognised at the FICCI-supported ARISE Excellence Awards 2025, held on 13th September.

“Sid, the Seed” – A Joyful Learning Experience in Nursery
As the culmination of the theme “I Love Plants”, the Nursery learners at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad brought the story Sid, the Seed to life through a heart-warming enactment.
The children stepped into the roles of soil, seed, sun, rain, water, and even Sid’s little friends — a caterpillar and a spider — to dramatize how a tiny seed grows into a flourishing tree. Guided by their teachers, they vividly portrayed the journey from a resting seed in the soil to the moment it sprouts into a young plant, nourished by sunlight and rain.
The enactment helped learners understand what plants need to grow — soil, water, sunlight, air, and space — while nurturing teamwork, creativity, and appreciation for nature’s interdependence.
Ahead of the children’s presentation, the Nursery educators enacted Sid, the Seed as a prelude to the learners’ performance, setting the tone for a lively and meaningful learning experience.
The theme concluded with curiosity, joy, and a deepened connection to the natural world — a wonderful celebration of learning through imagination and play.
Parenting Workshop – “Raising Resilient Children”
A parenting workshop titled “Raising Resilient Children” was conducted by Ms. Prachi Srivastava for the Early Years parents at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad.
The session explored the essence of resilience — what it truly means and what it does not. Ms. Prachi highlighted that resilience is not about protecting children from difficulties, but about helping them face and work through life’s everyday challenges with confidence. She emphasized that experiences of frustration, conflict, and failure are valuable opportunities for children to build emotional strength and self-awareness.
Through engaging discussions, she also helped parents reflect on their individual parenting styles and how these influence a child’s ability to manage emotions and cope with setbacks.
The session was interactive, reflective, and deeply relatable. Parents appreciated the practical strategies shared and the open space to ask questions and exchange experiences.
The workshop concluded with a shared understanding — that resilience is nurtured through empathy, guidance, and allowing children the space to grow through their own experiences.
Bringing Math Alive Through Storytelling – Himmat Aur Sher
On Thursday, 21st August 2025, an engaging Teachers in Role session brought the Junior Math story “Himmat Aur Sher” to life at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad. Held in the South Block Centre Field, the session turned math learning into an exciting storytelling experience.
Nursery facilitators stepped into character as Himmat, her mother, and Nani—captivating young learners through expressive narration and role play. The story followed Himmat on her journey to Nani’s house, where she fed a cardboard lion cut-out some laddoos, making learning come alive through imagination and interaction.
Back in class, the children reinforced their understanding through a fun dice game—rolling, identifying numbers, and “feeding” the lion the corresponding number of laddoos. This creative integration of storytelling and mathematics made number recognition and counting both joyful and meaningful, reflecting the school’s commitment to experiential and play-based learning.
SPIC MACAY – Kathak Performance by Pandit Rajendra Gangani
The SPIC MACAY event at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad was an enriching celebration of India’s classical arts and cultural heritage. The school had the honour of hosting Pandit Rajendra Gangani, the eminent Jaipur Gharana Kathak maestro, along with his team of accomplished accompanying artists.
The programme opened with a graceful Kathak performance by senior-grade students on the theme of the incoming monsoon, setting a lyrical tone for the morning. This was followed by Pandit Gangani’s spellbinding lecture-demonstration, where he brought alive the nuances of Kathak—its rhythmic precision, expressive abhinaya, and profound artistry. He also spoke about the discipline, dedication, and spiritual depth that sustain this classical tradition.
The session culminated in an interactive dialogue with students, who posed thoughtful questions about the art form, its evolution, and its relevance today. The exchange deepened their appreciation for India’s cultural legacy and the timeless beauty of classical dance.
Through this experience, Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing aesthetic awareness, respect for tradition, and the joy of learning through the arts.
Funkaar 2025 – A Celebration of Learning Through the Arts
From 1st to 29th August 2025, Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad hosted Funkaar, its annual Integrated Arts Programme for students of Grades 1 to 5. The much-awaited signature event was celebrated with great enthusiasm and creativity, marking the culmination of a rich and engaging learning journey for students across the Primary Years.
Rooted in the Shiv Nadar School philosophy that learning is most meaningful when it is experiential, interconnected, and reflective, Funkaar brought together dance, music, theatre, and visual arts in harmony with classroom learning. The month-long celebration encouraged students to explore academic concepts through artistic expression, inquiry, and collaboration—fostering observation, creativity, and connection at every step.
Highlights of Funkaar 2025
In Grade 3, students brought language to life by integrating English with Dance. Through expressive movement, rhythm, and spoken word, they showcased their understanding of stories and characters, interpreting themes and emotions through graceful performances.
Grade 4 learners explored the vibrant intersection of English and Visual Arts. They delved into character design and storytelling, creating vivid illustrations and performing short role-plays based on folk tales, demonstrating their grasp of dialogue, expression, and narrative depth.
Grade 5 students bridged Hindi and Theatre, immersing themselves in dramatic dialogues, interviews, and letter-writing activities that highlighted the power of communication and performance.
In addition to these integrations, Learning Walks across all core subjects transformed classrooms into interactive spaces of discovery. Students became guides and presenters—explaining concepts, demonstrating models, and sharing the skills they had developed over the term.
Madhubani Art Workshop for Grade 2
As part of the Funkaar learning experience, a three-day Madhubani Art Workshop was organised for Grade 2, integrating with Environmental Studies. The sessions, led by renowned folk artist Shanti Devi, introduced students to the intricate patterns, vibrant colours, and nature-inspired motifs of this traditional Indian art form.
Through hands-on practice, learners explored the cultural significance of Madhubani art and the symbolism behind motifs such as the sun, moon, fish, peacock, and flowers. The workshop nurtured observation, patience, and appreciation for the harmony between art and nature—culminating in personal artworks that beautifully reflected each child’s learning journey.
A Celebration of Learning
The event culminated with parents visiting classrooms to witness firsthand their children’s learning journeys. They interacted with students, viewed their projects, and celebrated their progress in both academic and creative domains.
Funkaar 2025 was more than a showcase—it was a celebration of expression, integration, and holistic learning. The event truly reflected Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded learners who think critically, create with confidence, and communicate with heart.
CAS Field Trip to Leopard Trail, Aravalli
On 9th October, as part of Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad’s commitment to holistic education and experiential learning through the CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) component of the IB Diploma Programme, students embarked on a field trip to Leopard Trail, Aravalli.
The experience offered students a meaningful opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world action. They participated in a garbage cleaning drive aimed at preserving the natural ecosystem of the Aravalli region. This hands-on initiative helped them understand the significance of environmental sustainability, responsible citizenship, and collective action.
Beyond the service component, the trek nurtured teamwork, leadership, and collaboration, as students navigated the terrain together and reflected on their individual and shared roles in safeguarding natural spaces.
Through this immersive experience, learners of Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad deepened their connection with nature and reaffirmed their commitment to building a cleaner, greener, and more mindful world.
Joy of Sharing Week 2025 | A Celebration of Empathy and Community
The Joy of Sharing Week at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad was a heartfelt celebration of compassion, gratitude, and purposeful action—anchored around the Fundraiser held on 11th July 2025.
Throughout the week, students engaged in experiences that reflected empathy, agency, and a strong sense of community.
As part of our ongoing engagement with the Government Middle School, Bhatola, members of the Student Council visited the campus to continue a relationship that extends beyond a single interaction. Through ongoing dialogue and shared initiatives, we aim to nurture a long-term partnership that enriches both school communities.
Mango Day brought smiles all around—each child contributed two mangoes, which were shared with our incredible Support Staff, the silent heroes of our daily school life, and with the students of Bhatola School.
The unveiling of the Community Mural celebrated the spirit of togetherness, while the History Wall beautifully chronicled a decade of Shiv Nadar School’s journey in Faridabad.
Students also curated a moving Gratitude Room experience for our support staff, made possible through community contributions. It became a space of warmth and acknowledgment—an expression of how deeply students value those who work tirelessly behind the scenes.
The week culminated in a Fundraiser Day, a vibrant showcase of student leadership, creativity, and collective effort, with enthusiastic support from the parent community through thoughtfully curated, parent-led stalls.
Each of these experiences went far beyond event participation—they were life-shaping moments that nurtured empathy, built character, and offered authentic opportunities for service and purpose-led action.
This special week honours the birthday of our Founder, Mr. Shiv Nadar (14th July), embodying his vision of giving back to society and making a difference that transcends all boundaries.
Over the years, the Joy of Sharing initiative has become an integral part of our school’s identity—supporting causes such as the SOS Village, Earth Saviours Foundation, and Prabhat NGO, and even contributing to the creation of two flourishing forests in Faridabad.
The Joy of Sharing truly lives up to its name—reminding us that kindness, when shared, grows deeper roots within every home and heart in our community.
EFL Sessions | Building Awareness and Life Skills
As part of the Education for Life (EFL) program at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad, Grade 11 students participated in two engaging sessions designed to strengthen their understanding of leadership, history, and communication.
EFL: Post-Independence History
Facilitated by Ms. Ekta Bidhuri and Ms. Preeti Gill, the session delved into the 1962 Indo-China War, examining its historical roots, border disputes, and the profound impact it had on leadership and national security. Through maps, visuals, and compelling anecdotes, students explored how the conflict shaped India’s defense strategies and foreign policy. Group research and discussions helped deepen their appreciation of this critical period in India’s post-independence journey.
EFL: Leadership and Communication (19 August)
Led by Ms. Mitu Majumdar and Ms. Meenakshi Sharma, this interactive workshop focused on effective communication—a cornerstone of leadership. Students engaged in activities highlighting clarity, tone, empathy, and non-verbal cues such as body language. A playful “whisper challenge” illustrated how miscommunication arises, reinforcing the importance of active listening and thoughtful expression.
The Education for Life program is a distinctive initiative that equips students of Grades IX and XI with practical life skills beyond the academic curriculum—encouraging critical thinking, self-awareness, and the ability to navigate the complexities of modern life with confidence and empathy.
