Paro Anand Visit at Shiv Nadar School

The new session begins with opportunities for our students to explore different genres and meet authors who create magic through books and their myriad story telling skills. As part of our first Library-led event for this session, students of Year 2 and 3 got an opportunity to meet and interact with the renowned author Ms. Paro Anand on April 15, 2019.

Paro Anand is a Bal Sahitya Puraskar winner and often described as a fearless writer with a big heart who has written for early years to adults.

During this interaction she conducted an animated story telling session from her acclaimed book ‘Wingless’, which has been performed nationally and internationally. While she read excerpts from this book, students were mesmerized with her narration style, yearning to hear to the whole story!

From Fear To Fascination! An engagement with Science at Primary School

In order for children to appreciate Science, it is imperative that the “fear” around the subject be addressed. Allowing children to explore science, and do hands on experiments brings down boundaries and reinforces our belief that one is never too young to explore its magic.

On 22nd of February, students of Grade 5 exhibited some interesting and ground-breaking products, based on the gravity, light and hydraulics. There was a dazzling array of models/protypes – from hydraulic lifts, automatic sensor operated dustbins, to a state of the art broom. Some creative minds even created a quiz on States of Matter. Their exploration only goes to show that young minds, when given a platform, can do wonders.
