Our greatest natural resource is the minds of our children. Walter Elias Disney
The July edition has diverse contributions by students, showcasing their brilliant writing skills. Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos going to space and opening up the possibility of civilians to travel into space has intrigued their young minds which they penned down beautifully. This edition has it all – some articles are thought-provoking, some informative, and some just fun reading.
This year was a year of synergies where parents came together for collaborative work. ‘Brahmaand’ with ‘Navrasa’ as its central theme emerged and the parents presented it through Art, Music and Theatre. The same theme was taken forward in the third edition of Reflections EKA - a book by the parents, for the parent; presenting a plethora of human emotions and expressions, promoting the universal feeling of well-being through a contemplative and better understanding of one's self.
The third edition of Reflections EKA was unveiled at an event, celebrating our parents who graciously contributed to the book. This edition came to life not just through the articles and poems by our parents, but the illustrations were also drawn from the canvases painted by our parents based on ‘Navrasa’ for Virtuosity - An Exposition which unfolded during the Annual Production last year. The highlight of Reflections EKA has always been our parents, who are involved in the process of making the book from design to printing; an absolute parent-led initiative.

Our life consists of experiences sometimes viewed by us as isolated or unrelated events. At times we view these happenings simply as the experiences they are, and at other times, as opportunities for learning. Personal reflection enables us to process and make meaning of all the great (and not so great) experiences that we’ve had.
We at Shiv Nadar School see great value in the application of critical reflection, which is essentially about creating self-awareness. We as a community of learners, constantly reflect upon our thoughts, actions, experiences and outcomes. Reflections EKA is one such endeavour, it reflects our ‘oneness’ – our EKA - in diversity.
Many of us get caught up in the process of surging ahead that we don’t necessarily find time to introspect on what’s going on deep within us. Through Reflections – EKA, we intend to gather, understand, analyze and contemplate on the personal and the professional facets of our lives as we sit to ponder and reflect. It is a space where we invite our parents to share their reflections, experiences and stories. The book is a collaboration between parents, students and the school. Read through the book and enjoy the journey.
The 7th edition of The Network kindles the world of fantasy. The students through this edition have tried to highlight that fantasy is not only a way to cope with reality today but a place for reflection and comfort. A place that we can never outgrow. Each book and film in this edition is a tribute to that one piece of us that can never part with this comfort.
