Shiv Nadar School prioritizes reading as the bedrock of learning, language development, and critical thinking. To cultivate a reading habit, the Faridabad Campus conducted a Battle of Books Challenge for Grades 1 and 2. The three-week challenge, spanning from July 24th to August 14th, aimed to foster a love for literature, expand reading choices, bolster comprehension skills, and nurture class unity.
Students were provided personalized reading lists in both English and Hindi, aligning with the school's inclusive ethos. After finishing a book, learners shared concise summaries and added blocks to their reading towers, promoting communal engagement. With a target of seven books per student, cooperation was emphasized, culminating in a collective goal of reading maximum books.
In the Battle of Books, classes 1 Ranthambore and 2 Sariska emerged triumphant, reading the highest number of books. Deputy Head Preeti Ma'am lauded the winners. Shiv Nadar School continues to champion joyful learning, inspiring young minds to thrive through the realms of literature.
Grade 4 students of Shiv Nadar School Faridabad organized an assembly to celebrate the birthday of the renowned British author, Roald Dahl, known for his enchanting tales crafted for young readers. During this event, students donned costumes inspired by their beloved characters from Dahl's literary world. The highlight of the assembly was a delightful musical performance, conveying the message that children can embark on a journey of improvement and self-discovery while reveling in the joy of their adventures.
It instilled a sense of appreciation for nature and the environment as students connected with the natural world around them.
This trip also helped emphasize the importance of incorporating fresh fruits and vegetables into a healthy diet.
