Grade 8 students from Corbett and Sariska came together to organize a remarkable National Unity Day Assembly, marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as the "Iron Man of India." This event took place at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad, North Block in WCH and was specially arranged for Middle and Senior school students which showcased a rich tapestry of performances and presentations, all centered around the theme of unity.

The assembly began with a solemn prayer that set the tone for the day, followed by the sharing of an insightful thought of the day and a current news update, highlighting the significance of unity and awareness as responsible citizens. The thought-provoking messages were a prelude to the unity-themed program that followed.

Students presented inspiring Hindi and English poems that eloquently conveyed the concept of unity, showcasing the power of poetry in bringing people together. These heartfelt verses resonated with the audience, underscoring the importance of unity in our lives.

Kimayra then took the stage to enlighten the audience with scientific facts behind the creation of the Statue of Unity, a fitting tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Her presentation shed light on the significance of this monumental statue, serving as a beacon of unity and remembrance.

Artistic expression played a pivotal role in the assembly, with Kurush and Ahaan sharing their perspective through a remarkable painting. Their artwork symbolized unity, and its visual impact left an indelible mark on the audience, reinforcing the theme of togetherness.

A mesmerizing mime performance followed, leaving the audience spellbound. This non-verbal portrayal beautifully conveyed the message that unity transcends religious divides and that a nation's strength lies in its unity. It was a powerful reminder that actions often speak louder than words.

Aditya and Vivaan's band performance added a musical touch to the assembly, featuring the harmonious sync of piano and guitar.

The news segment presented by Grade 8 students from Corbett and Sariska was both informative and thought-provoking. It highlighted the potential for a world without war when world leaders come together in unity, showcasing the importance of diplomacy and cooperation on the global stage.

The assembly also featured a captivating dance performance by the girls from Grade 8 Corbett and Sariska. Their dance promoted the concept of harmony, both in their graceful movements and in life, providing a visually stunning representation of unity in motion.

The assembly reached its grand finale with a hilarious skit that used humor and creativity to underscore the importance of unity and positivity in the face of challenges. This skit, delivered with panache, conveyed a message of hope while keeping the audience entertained and engaged.

The event concluded on a patriotic note, as the entire audience came together to sing the national anthem. The unity and pride in the room were palpable, and it served as a powerful reminder of our shared commitment to the unity and integrity of our nation.

Celebrating Learning Journeys: Unveiling Funkaar for Grades 1 and 2

Funkaar, an innovative initiative by Shiv Nadar Schools, goes beyond conventional subjects, expanding the horizons of learning. The Primary school recently celebrated this initiative by inviting parents to witness and share in their children's educational journey.

In Grade 1, students delved into the rich tapestry of India's diverse cultures and cuisines through Environmental Studies. Their exploration extended to poetic Hindi tales in 'Rasoighar' and vibrant English stories from the bustling 'Vegetable Market.' Math lessons transformed into practical experiences during grocery shopping, turning each transaction into a valuable real-world lesson. Adding an artistic touch, students explored traditional and modern kitchens through creative endeavors. They sketched vegetable baskets from various perspectives, played with shapes and textures, and molded clay to craft kitchen elements. This artistic exploration aimed to deepen their understanding of food while fostering creative skills.

Meanwhile, Grade 2 students drew inspiration from 'The Little Prince,' embarking on a captivating journey. Guided by theatrical techniques, they collectively designed three distinct worlds. Beginning with a technological realm, transitioning to a nature-centric space with limited resources, and concluding with a utopian world embracing sustainable development, their journey was both immersive and enlightening. In language studies, students dissected storytelling elements, employing theatrical characterisation to craft narratives within these unique worlds. Hindi sessions led them to explore the fictional text 'Bus Ke Neeche Baagh,' prompting engaging research and collaborative writing, celebrating the essence of the poem 'Baagh ka Baccha.'

The celebration showcased the students' integrated and experiential learning, expressed through poems, songs, quizzes, and art and design works, making Funkaar a vibrant and enriching initiative at Shiv Nadar Schools.
