The "Chuppi Todoh" project
Chuppi Todoh (Break the Silence) is a passion project started by Priyanshi Bagga, a Grade 12 IBDP student. The project aims to improve sanitation infrastructure in rural schools by installing pad vending machines. It has raised over ₹2,00,000 through funding and donations. The team has installed pad machines in two government schools, distributing over 30,000 pads. This project has helped boost attendance and sanitation facilities for more than 10,000 girls in these schools. They have also held several menstrual hygiene awareness workshops and encouraged the formation of self-help groups in rural areas to improve financial independence and affordability of these products among groups of women.
The project also features a podcast on Spotify that aims to use storytelling to highlight social justice issues and empower marginalised communities. The podcast covers various issues, from prisoner rehabilitation to acid attacks and sexual assault survivors.
The UN recognised this project and awarded it the GirlUP Project Award. Chuppi Todoh was also a finalist for the Taco Bell Ambition Accelerator and was recognised by both Taco Bell and Ashoka University.
In the future, Chuppi Todoh aims to target over 10+ schools to improve sanitation infrastructure and generate awareness. It also plans to aid in the formation of 10+ self-help groups amongst the rural poor.

Tiara Jain Triumphs at Faridabad Chess Tournament
Tiara Jain, a 9-year-old student from class 5 Corbett at Shiv Nadar School Faridabad, recently excelled in the Faridabad District Chess Tournament Championship.
She secured the 1st position in the under-9 girls category, showcasing her exceptional talent and dedication to the game. This achievement highlights Tiara's remarkable skills and reflects the school's commitment to nurturing students' holistic development.
Shiv Nadar School Faridabad Shines at Faridabad District Chess Championship
Shiv Nadar School Faridabad is proud to announce the outstanding performance of its students at the Faridabad District Chess Championship held on 30th March 2024.
Ruhaan Taneja from grade 2 Sariska secured 2nd place in the U-7 category, while our grade 2 students also secured the 1st and 3rd positions.

Jayansh Dhingra: Chess Champion
Jayansh Dhingra, a student in 6th Corbett at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad, excelled in chess at the district-level tournament on 31st March 2024. He dominated the Under-11 Boys category, winning all 6 matches to secured the championship. Impressively, Jayansh also competed in the Under-19 Boys category, narrowly missing the trophy and settling for the 4th position medal.
His exceptional performance reflects his talent and dedication to the game.
Avviraaj Kalia qualifies Nationals - Golf
Avviraaj Kalia, a Grade 4 student at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad, recently participated in the Shubhankar Sharma All India Junior Invitational Series 2024 City Qualifier 2 at AF TRAINING & SPORTS COMPLEX Gurugram. His exceptional performance secured him the third position in the tournament, qualifying him to play in the nationals. Avviraaj's achievement not only demonstrates his talent in golf but also highlights his dedication to excellence both on and off the course. His success is a source of pride for the school and a testament to his hard work and commitment.
Kiara Gera Excels in Kickboxing
Kiara Gera of 3 Kanha excelled at the 23rd All Faridabad District Kickboxing Championship, securing a Gold Medal in the Kick Light event and a Silver Medal in the Point Fight event. Her exceptional performance has earned her a spot in the upcoming Haryana State Kickboxing Championship in May 2024. Kiara's agility, technique, and strategic prowess were on full display, showcasing her dedication and skill in the sport.
Hrit Gupta Excels at Delhi Horse Show
Hrit Gupta, an IBDP student, has achieved remarkable success at the Delhi Horse Show held at the Army Polo Riding Club. Competing against participants from across India, Hrit secured the title of BEST JUNIOR RIDER. His exceptional performance included winning 2 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal in various categories. Hrit's achievement highlights his dedication, skill, and competitive spirit, bringing pride to himself and his school.
Avantika Wins Gymnastics Gold
Avantika Bhatia, a Grade 1 student at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad, excelled in the 2nd All India Level Wise Gymnastics Championship 2024. Competing in Level 1 for the under 7 category, Avantika's exceptional skills and dedication earned her the gold medal.
Iha Joshi wins U-16 Tennis
Iha Joshi, a Grade 8 Corbett student at Shiv Nadar School Faridabad, achieved a remarkable feat by winning the Tennis Girls Under-16 Championship Series held in Delhi from 15th to 19th April 2024. Despite being four years younger than the age group, Iha's (12-year-old )skill and determination secured her victory, showcasing her exceptional talent and promising future in tennis.
Pranit Rastogi: A Rising Star in Chess
Pranit Rastogi, a Grade 2 student at Shiv Nadar School Faridabad, continues to make remarkable strides in the world of chess, establishing himself as a rising star with an impressive list of achievements throughout 2024.
District and Global Triumphs
- District Champion (U-7): Pranit emerged as the District Champion in the Under 7 category for the financial year 2024-25, maintaining an undefeated streak in all five games.
- District Category (U-9): He secured third place while competing in the higher District category Under 9.
- Global Champ Rapid Chess Tournament: Pranit clinched first prize in both the Under 8 and Under 10 categories, remaining undefeated at the Ramagya School Chess Tournament.
- IPEN Chess Tournament: He won first prize in the Under 8 category at the R.K. Chokshi School of Chess in Faridabad.
- 3rd NCR Chess Tournament (Ghaziabad): Achieved second prize.
- Faridabad Open District Chess Championship: Secured second prize in the Under 9 category at G.D. Goenka Public School, Faridabad.
- Under 9 Tournament (Ramagya School Noida): Won first prize and remained unbeaten.
June 2024 Highlights
- Under 13 Rapid and Blitz Chess Tournament: Pranit secured second and first prizes at Ramagya School, Noida.
- 1st AFCA Open FIDE Classical International Rated Tournament: Won third prize in the Under 7 category at DPSG School, Faridabad.
July 2024 Highlights
- Global Sports Academy Chess Tournament: Secured third prize in the Under 15 category at Ramagya School Noida.
- Board Masters Chess Tournament: Won first prize in the Under 8 category and second prize in the Under 14 category, defeating two International FIDE Rated players.
August 2024 Highlights
- International FIDE Rated Tournament (Agra): Pranit defeated an International Rated player, drew one game, and secured second place in the Under 7 category.
- 3rd R.K. Chokshi Tournament: Won first prize in the Under 7 category.
September 2024 Highlights
- 16th MCA Chess Championship (Noida): Won first prize in both Under 7 and Under 9 categories, remaining unbeatable in all games.
- Under 7 National Championship (Mysore): Secured 26th rank out of 250 top players, the highest from Haryana, defeating four International Rated players and earning his FIDE International Rating.
October 2024 Highlights
- SFA Chess Under 9 Competition (New Delhi): Won a Gold Medal, remaining undefeated.
- Under 9 Khushi Chess Competition (Faridabad): Secured first prize, maintaining an unbeaten streak.
- Second Isle Chess Tournament (Faridabad): Competed in three categories—Under 8, Under 12, and Under 16—winning third prize in each, along with the Youngest Prize Award in Under 12 and Under 16.
- FIDE International Rating: Debuted with a rating of 1563, making him the highest-rated player at Shiv Nadar School Faridabad and one of the top three in India for his age category.
- Move N Leap Chess Tournament (Noida): Secured third prize in the Under 12 category, defeating two International FIDE Rated players.
November 2024 Highlights
- 8th Genius Chess Tournament (9-10 November): Pranit participated in the Under 7 and Under 9 categories held at Adharsheela Global School, Ghaziabad. He remained undefeated across both categories, showcasing his growing strength and consistency.
- On 16th November, Pranit represented Shiv Nadar School Faridabad in an Inter-School Chess Tournament at GBN School, Faridabad, where he remained undefeated, winning all 7 games and securing first position in the Under-9 category.
- On 17th November, Pranit competed in the Under-13 category at the 17th MCA Chess Tournament at Ramagya School, Noida, earning a well-deserved second place
December 2024 Highlights
- Asian School Chess Championship 2024-25 (Bangkok, Thailand): Represented India in this prestigious championship held from 1st to 11th December 2024, demonstrating exceptional talent on an international stage.
January - February 2025 Highlights
- 4th – 7th January : He participated in the Chess for World Peace Below 1800 International Chess Tournament at Jaypee School, Sector 128, Noida, and won third prize in the Under-9 category.
- 10th – 12th January : Pranit competed in the 1st Skillcraft International FIDE Rated Tournament at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, securing 7th position in the Under-8 category.
- 17th – 21st January : Representing Haryana and Shiv Nadar School Faridabad, Pranit participated in the 13th National School Chess Championship (Under-9) at Shri Prakash Synergy School, Peddapuram, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, and secured 31st position in a highly competitive field.
- 31st January – 4th February : He competed in the New Delhi Open International FIDE Rated Classical Chess Tournament at Thyagraj Stadium, Delhi, achieving 5th position in the Under-8 category.
- 9th February: Pranit secured first place in the Under-12 (Higher Category) at the 5th Study Isle Chess Tournament held in Sector 17, Faridabad, remaining undefeated in all his matches.
- 16th February : Pranit Rastogi showcased his exceptional chess skills at the Move N Leap Chess Tournament held at Sector 40, Noida, on 16th February 2025. Competing in two different categories, he delivered outstanding performances:
Under-8 Category: Secured first place, remaining undefeated in all matches.
Under-12 Category (Higher Category): Secured first place, remaining undefeated in all matches, and was also honored with the Youngest Boy Award Trophy.
