Celebrating Family: Mother’s Day at Early Years

The Early Years celebrated Mother’s Day with heart-warming activities that honoured the special bond between mothers and their children. The day began with an energetic music and movement session, setting a lively tone for the event. Indoors, children joyfully sang rhymes and songs they had practised in their homerooms, delighting their mothers with their heartfelt performances. A fun and engaging voice recognition game brought laughter and affectionate smiles as mothers tried to identify their child’s voice.

One of the most touching moments of the celebration was when children expressed their love and gratitude through simple yet sincere messages, leaving many mothers deeply moved. Adding a personal touch, each child presented their mother with a handmade craft—a heartfelt expression of love and appreciation. The event concluded with a photo session, capturing precious memories of togetherness.

The celebration was a beautiful testament to the strength of familial bonds, marked by love, laughter, and lasting memories.

Celebrating Storytelling and Cultural Heritage: A Special Session with Author Ms. Sudha G. Tilak

Our Kindergarten learners were privileged to attend an engaging storytelling session with renowned author Ms. Sudha G. Tilak, who introduced her latest book, The Great Toy Debate. Through expressive narration, Ms. Tilak brought to life characters and stories that celebrate toys from across India, igniting young imaginations.

A highlight of the session was the vibrant showcase of traditional toys, including Laiphadibi dolls from Manipur, Matryoshka dolls from Russia, cloth dolls from Kolkata, and Rajasthani puppets. The children were captivated by these treasures, eagerly asking thoughtful questions and sharing their own personal toy stories.

This enriching experience not only sparked creativity but also deepened our learners’ appreciation for cultural heritage and the timeless art of storytelling. At Shiv Nadar School, we believe in nurturing a strong reading culture from the earliest years, and opportunities like these foster a love for literature, curiosity, and a lifelong passion for learning.

Exploring India’s Artistic Heritage: SNS Students Visit the National Craft Museum

A group of Grade 11 and 12 students from Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad, accompanied by teacher Mr. Abhinav Yagnik, visited the National Craft Museum as part of an educational initiative to deepen their understanding of Indian art and heritage. The objective was to help students appreciate the aesthetics of artifacts, connect personally with various art forms, and develop a critical perspective towards historical crafts.

The visit began with a guided tour covering the Indus Valley Civilization, Mauryan Art, Gupta Art, and the Miniature Painting section. Students then had the opportunity to explore the museum independently, engaging with the Ivory, Metal, and Coin sections. Throughout the visit, they actively documented their experiences through photography.

Students will now translate their observations and insights into presentations, reflecting on different folk art forms across mediums and timelines. This enriching experience helped bridge classroom learning with cultural history, fostering a deeper appreciation for India’s artistic legacy and complementing the vibrant learning culture at Shiv Nadar School.

Celebrating Family Day in Early Years

The Early Years at Shiv Nadar School Faridabad celebrated Family Day with warmth and joy, honouring the invaluable role families—and especially fathers—play in a child’s life.

The day unfolded with cheerful songs, rhymes, and energetic music and movement activities, as children welcomed their fathers and family members with excitement. A series of fun, interactive games encouraged laughter, bonding, and shared experiences, creating a joyful atmosphere.

A collaborative craft session followed, where children and their fathers worked side by side to create a special memento—one that symbolised love, partnership, and treasured moments together. Adding flavour to the celebration was a fire-free cooking activity, where fathers and children teamed up to prepare simple treats. This hands-on experience brought out creativity, teamwork, and plenty of smiles.

The celebration concluded on a heartwarming note—with hugs, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime. It was a beautiful reminder of the strength of family ties and a special tribute to fathers, whose presence made the day all the more meaningful.

Grade 1 Field Trip: Movie Outing – Paddington in Peru

To make learning joyful and immersive, the Grade 1 learners of Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad went on a movie outing to watch Paddington in Peru on 15th July at the Mall of Faridabad. In the days leading up to the trip, students were introduced to the country of Peru, the Amazon rainforest, and its vibrant wildlife through interactive discussions and visual storytelling.

The children were thrilled to watch Paddington’s adventurous journey come alive on the big screen. They were attentive, cheerful, and thoroughly enjoyed the cinematic experience with their peers.

Back at school, they reflected on the outing through a post-trip activity where they illustrated and wrote about their favourite parts of the movie. This thoughtful integration of exploration, learning, and reflection made for a truly memorable and enriching experience at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad.
