World Music Day

Music gives soul to the Universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.

The Musical project is a compilation of videos shared by students, parents and teachers.

It is time that we all rejoice in the rhythm, music and positivity.

Investiture Ceremony - Middle and Senior School

The investiture ceremony was an occasion to celebrate the indomitable spirit of resilience and empathy and felicitate the new torch bearers of the student body. The Middle and Senior School student body elected their student council virtually for the first time. The whole process of the democratic elections was held in an organised and seamless manner. The candidates shared their vision in their manifesto videos and campaigning was kick started by showing these manifesto videos to the students during the circle time slots. A google doc was shared with the students and they voted for the candidates of their choice virtually on the 19th of June 2021.

The newly elected Student Council was sworn in at the Investiture Ceremony held on the 26th of June, 2021. Before that, the service and leadership of the previous council members who had led by example, holding themselves, those around them and the SNS core values to a higher standard, was lauded.

Viren Choudhary and Nirvani Jain were elected as the School Captains for the year. Along with School Captains, House captains, Sports Captain, Vice-captains, Prefects, Literary Incharges and Cultural Secretaries, this year, several new posts were introduced namely - MUN secretary, Heritage and History Anchor and Habitat Conservationist. The elected students gave their acceptance speeches and thanked their peers for voting for them.

The School Captain of the previous council, Arnav Sachdeva, led the Student Council in taking the oath to do justice to the responsibilities entrusted upon them. Col Gopal Karunakaran, CEO of Shiv Nadar School and President of Shiv Nadar University, inspired the council with his motivating words about leadership. Our Director Principal Ms. Wal congratulated and motivated the council to be the voice of the student body and learn the true essence of leadership.

A lot of hard work, technical expertise, creativity and innovative thinking had gone into planning what finally culminated into the Investiture ceremony.

As India faces unprecedented levels of pollution, students of Shiv Nadar School recognize that the air we breathe must be a fundamental human right, available to all. They wrote to Union Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change Prakash Javadekar seeking justice and action for a long-term solution. Their impassioned letter has been highlighted in The Statesman.

Cherished Moments - Guardian’s Day

The Early Years' Father’s / Guardian’s Day celebration was a heartwarming event that beautifully honored the unique relationship between fathers/guardians and their children. The day commenced with spirited activities like "Percussion" and "Team Building," actively involving parents. The children's performances, featuring songs, rhymes, and joyful dance routines, showcased their love and appreciation. A standout feature was the collaborative co-creation takeaway craft, which allowed fathers/guardians and children to share a creative bonding experience. Feedback from fathers/guardians, including Vishrut’s Father's anticipation, Maanvir’s Father's enthusiasm for drums and clay, and Suvana’s Father's joy in dancing with the kids, encapsulated the event's essence. This heartening celebration not only strengthened familial ties but also created lasting memories, fostering a strong sense of community within the Early Years' cohort.

“Motherhood: All love begins and end there.”

The day that recognizes the essence of a mother was celebrated in high spirits and happiness which was enjoyed by one and all. Keeping the emotional connect of a mother and child, the Pre-Primary section of Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad planned its fifth special celebration on Mother’s Day.

The Day began with special Zumba session by Ms. Rupali, followed by Breakfast in dining area. The children were eagerly waiting to surprise their mothers with a special song to bring a smile on their mother’s face. They also played the game passing the parcel. All the mothers enthusiastically participated and enjoyed the game with children. Post this, children and mothers participated and enjoyed the co-scholastic sessions.

The last leg of the event was a craft co-creation by students and their mothers. They were given waste material to create a photo frame. The participants came up with new and innovative ideas to make the frame. It was a pleasure watching the dynamic and energetic mother and child duo preparing something unique, something special. The outcome of their efforts was marvelous.

All in all it was an enjoyable and memorable day for each and every mother and child.

Learning Walk – Year 3-5 – 17th May 2019

Students of Year 3 presented their learning journey of Unit 1, 'Working Together' by participating in a learning walk. The key focus this year is ‘Student Voice and Choice’. Students were provided with various opportunities to express their thoughts and make choices. The design of the learning walk showcased how each learner took charge of his or her own learning and presented it to their parents and visitors with utmost pride.

Under the theme ‘Water’, students of Grade 4 culminated their understanding of the unit through creative, hands on activities and informative displays. The boards showcased the students’ work and solutions presented by them.

As a part of the culmination of the EVS theme- ‘Communication’, students of Grade 5 prepared the learning walk to explain the conceptual understanding to their parents. Students displayed their learning through newsletters, advertisements using persuasive strategies and a letter writing session with their parents.

Beginning of a new journey

We are delighted to inform you that the Nursery children fared fantastically well on their first day at school. With welcoming warmth and widespread smiles, it didn’t take much time for them to settle in their classes. Singing and swaying, the children were brought closer to begin the day with Circle time. A simple ‘Name game’ was played and shared names to familiarize the children with each other and also with the teacher. This was followed by a hearty breakfast of jam sandwich, pav-bhaji and roohafza milk which they relished and some even asked for a second helping. The highlight of the day was the Puppet Show based on the story- Webster J Duck. They seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed the show and also engaged in creating a craft of a duck based on the story. The also enjoyed playing with cubes, play dough, in the jungle gym and in the sand pit. The first day in the ‘Big School ‘ ended on a happy note.

Our Kindergarteners were happy to be back at school and we were delighted to see all the children well settled in their homerooms. They warmly welcomed their old and new friends and enthusiastically participated in all the activities during the day. As a part of getting to know each other they played 'Name Game', listened to the story of Chrysanthemum and made a craft depicting themselves and as always all of them had a fabulous time playing at the outdoors.
