Guinness World Record
Shiv Nadar School etched its name into history by setting a new Guinness World Record on 14th March 2024. In just one hour, 2,232 students and educators came together, each contributing a handprint to a giant canvas, creating a vibrant masterpiece that symbolised a pledge to protect our most precious resource: Water. It was a powerful demonstration of how collective action, fuelled by purpose, can ignite change.
Steam Events
At Shiv Nadar School’s STEAM Conclave in May 2024, the room buzzed with energy as students transformed ideas into tangible solutions for a more sustainable world. Themed ‘Innovate to Sustain: Green Energy, Essential for Earth’s Tomorrow,’ the event became a stage for bold thinking and purposeful innovation, with each project reflecting a commitment to creating real-world impact. The presence of William Kamkwamba, the renowned inventor who built a windmill from scrap to power his village in Malawi, brought the theme to life. His story was a powerful reminder that even the simplest ideas, when powered by determination, can transform entire communities.
The first-ever STEAMphony in February 2025 at Shiv Nadar School, Chennai, brought together over 200 students from 19 schools in six events spanning digital art, music, dance, design, debate, and quizzing, each one alive with energy and fresh ideas. Our Middle Years students were the heartbeat of the event as hosts, keeping the day flowing with warmth. Their leadership transformed the competition into a celebration of community spirit. As the final notes faded, STEAMphony’s debut left behind a chorus of shared inspiration.
TEDxSNSYouth
Imagine stepping into a room alive with curiosity, the stage softly glowing, and the audience eager to hear stories that could shift their perspective. This is the essence of TEDx, where ideas are experienced. Speakers take the stage to invite the audience into their worlds, sharing personal stories about turning setbacks into life lessons, leaving listeners to reflect. At TEDxSNSYouth in April 2024, this magic came alive under the theme inspired by Tabula Rasa, the idea that we begin as blank slates, shaped by our experiences. A series of captivating talks took centre stage, exploring topics such as identity, sustainability, education, sports, and masculinity. Each speaker shared impactful stories, weaving invaluable lessons into the narrative that sparked questions and reflection.

Coinciding with the birthday of the school’s founder, Shiv Nadar, on July 14, the initiative honours his vision of creating change with education and compassion. In July, students across age groups engaged in meaningful initiatives, from mental well-being workshops and water conservation drives to heritage awareness and donation campaigns.
