Uniting History, Diversity, and Leadership through IDEALS : Round Square Conference

The Round Square Conference provided Senior School students with a comprehensive, hands-on journey focused on personal growth, cultural appreciation, and leadership. Immersed in activities designed around the Round Square IDEALS at Ballarat Grammar School, participants engaged deeply with history, community, and global perspectives. Through historical explorations, such as learning about Australia's Aboriginal heritage and the struggles for miners' rights at the Eureka Stockade and Sovereign Hill, students gained a real-world understanding of fairness, democracy, and community resilience. Simultaneously, interactive team challenges across Melbourne—navigated alongside international peers in Baraza groups—tested their adaptability, communication, and problem-solving skills in unfamiliar environments. By combining historical reflection with active collaboration, the conference successfully inspired open-mindedness, empowered students to embrace diversity, and equipped them with essential leadership qualities for global citizenship.
