Hindi Diwas 2026: Celebrating the Language That Connects Us
Language and literature open the doors of imagination and allow us to see the world around us through many different perspectives. On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, Shiv Nadar School Faridabad came alive with stories, songs, theatre, and laughter as learners across the Kindergarten, Primary, and Middle years celebrated the warmth, richness, and beauty of the Hindi language.
At Shiv Nadar School, we believe that children connect most deeply with a language when they experience it with joy. Stories, songs, and play allow them to hear it, speak it, and make it their own, and this year's celebrations were a heartwarming reflection of that belief.
Kindergarten: A Tale of Self-Acceptance
The Kindergarten team opened the celebrations with a special assembly filled with joy, learning, and storytelling. Our KG teachers brought the story Chulbul Ki Poonch to life through an energetic role play, complete with colourful costumes and expressive narration that held every young learner's attention. The children were thoroughly delighted by the performance, picking up new Hindi words along the way and taking home a gentle yet meaningful lesson about self-acceptance and being proud of who they are.
KG Sariska and KG Corbett: Stories, Quizzes, and Song
Our KG learners then took the stage themselves. KG Sariska presented a charming role play based on the story "भीमा गधा", bringing the tale to life with delightful dialogues, expressive faces, and animal sounds that drew smiles and giggles from the audience. Each child stepped into their character with confidence, speaking Hindi naturally and following the flow of the story with ease.
KG Corbett followed with a short and interactive quiz, inviting the audience to recall the characters and events of the story. Hands went up eagerly with every question, turning listening into a lively shared experience. The assembly came to a joyful close as all the KG learners came together to sing Hindi poems, their little voices united in rhythm and celebration, ensuring every child had a moment to shine.
Grade 1 Sariska and Grade 2 Corbett: Knowledge Meets Theatre
On 14th September at 8:10 a.m., the Amphitheatre welcomed learners from Grade 1 Sariska and Grade 2 Corbett for their Hindi Diwas Assembly. Grade 1 Sariska began by sharing interesting facts about the Hindi language, highlighting its rich heritage and its significance in our lives. Grade 2 Corbett then had the audience laughing along with a humorous and engaging theatrical presentation that showcased their confidence, creativity, and expressive skills. The assembly offered a meaningful platform for learners to celebrate Hindi through knowledge, theatre, and creative expression, while growing a genuine appreciation for the language.
Grades 3 to 5: The Hindi Talent Show
For learners of Grades 3 to 5, Hindi Diwas on 14th September was celebrated through a vibrant Hindi Talent Show, designed to nurture a love and appreciation for Hindi literature. Students recited dohas and poems, shared jokes and riddles, and cleverly enacted Hindi idioms. The stage also saw a delightful puppet show, playful Hindi tongue twisters that kept everyone on their toes, and spirited mimicry of well-loved characters from Hindi books. The room was filled with applause, laughter, and a real sense of pride in the language.
A Day to Remember
From our youngest learners discovering new words through stories to older students performing with flair and confidence, Hindi Diwas was a truly fulfilling celebration of learning, fun, and reflection.
