Funkaar: Awakening the Artist Within

A celebration of expression, integration and holistic learning

Funkaar, the annual Integrated Arts Programme of Shiv Nadar School, is one of the most eagerly awaited events of the Primary Years. The word Funkaar means "artist", and true to its name, the programme blends fun and craft to awaken the artist within every child. Rooted in the belief that children learn best by doing, Funkaar brings subjects such as languages, mathematics, sciences and environmental studies to life through dance, music, theatre and the visual arts.

This year at Shiv Nadar School Faridabad, Funkaar was celebrated with great enthusiasm and creativity, marking the culmination of a rich learning journey for students of Grades 3 to 5. Classroom learning and the arts came together in imaginative ways, inviting students to explore ideas, express themselves and make connections across subjects.

Alongside these integrations, Learning Walks across all core subjects turned our classrooms into lively spaces of discovery. Students stepped confidently into the role of guides and presenters, explaining concepts, demonstrating models and sharing the skills they had built over the term.

The celebration came to a close with parents visiting the classrooms to see their children's learning up close. It was a joy to watch families engage with projects, applaud performances and celebrate each child's growth, both academically and creatively.

Funkaar was far more than a showcase. It was a celebration of curiosity, creativity and confidence, and a reflection of our commitment at Shiv Nadar School Faridabad to nurturing well-rounded learners who think deeply, create boldly and communicate with heart.
