DRAGO WITH A DIFFERENT FLAME – A Story About Being Proud to Be Different
The Kindergarten students came together to celebrate Expressions 2026–27, a vibrant showcase of imagination, creativity, and self-expression, centered around the captivating theme, “Drago with a Different Flame – A Story About Being Proud to Be Different.” The event celebrated the uniqueness of every child and conveyed the powerful message that our differences make us special and that true strength lies in embracing who we are.
The story revolved around Drago, a young dragon who discovers that his flame is different from those of the other dragons. Initially, this difference makes him question his abilities and place among others. However, as his journey unfolds, Drago learns to appreciate his individuality and recognises that being different is not a weakness but a strength. Through this heartwarming narrative, the children explored important values such as self-acceptance, empathy, kindness, inclusivity, and respect for diversity.
The young performers brought the story to life through engaging performances, expressive movements, music, and enthusiastic participation. Their confidence and stage presence reflected the effort and preparation that had gone into making the event a success. Each performance highlighted the children's ability to communicate emotions, work collaboratively, and express themselves creatively. The colourful presentations captivated the audience, creating an atmosphere filled with joy, warmth, and appreciation.
Beyond the performances, Expressions served as a meaningful learning experience for the children. Preparing for the event encouraged them to develop essential skills such as communication, collaboration, listening, coordination, and confidence. It also provided opportunities for them to understand that every individual has unique talents, abilities, and perspectives that deserve recognition and respect.
Expressions 2026–27 was more than an annual performance; it was a celebration of individuality, belonging, and the courage to be oneself. The event beautifully reinforced the belief that every child has a special flame within them, waiting to shine in their own unique way. It concluded with a meaningful reminder that when children learn to embrace their differences and celebrate those of others, they grow into confident, compassionate, and accepting individuals. Through this celebration, the school reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing creative, empathetic, and self-assured learners who are proud of who they are and respectful of the uniqueness of others.
