As part of the year-end reflections and celebrations, MY1 learners, along with members of the Student Council, hosted a special lunch for the school’s support staff as a gesture of gratitude and appreciation. This annual tradition is a cherished opportunity for learners to recognise the invaluable contributions of the many individuals who work behind the scenes to make the school a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment for everyone.
Rooted in the IB values of being caring and principled, the initiative encouraged learners to understand the importance of every role within a community. Through this experience, learners acknowledged the efforts of support staff who contribute each day — from maintaining the campus and supporting transport to ensuring that daily routines and operations run smoothly.
The celebration was filled with warmth, smiles, and heartfelt interactions. The support staff enjoyed the special gesture, sharing their happiness and appreciation as learners served them lunch and spent time expressing their gratitude. The joy on their faces reflected the meaningful connections built through moments of kindness and recognition.
Beyond the lunch itself, the experience provided learners with an opportunity to put empathy and respect into action, reinforcing the IB belief that learning extends beyond the classroom. It reminded everyone that a strong school community is built when every individual feels valued, respected, and celebrated.
