Students from Shiv Nadar School, Chennai showcased exceptional mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills at the Gauss Mathematics Contest 2026, organised by the University of Waterloo, Canada. Recognised globally for encouraging mathematical reasoning, analytical thinking, and a deeper appreciation for mathematics, the contest sees participation from tens of thousands of learners worldwide each year.

The school celebrated the remarkable achievements of learners who received Outstanding Achievement Awards, presented to the top two performers in each grade level. Shinwoo Kim and Anirudh Vijaykrishnan were recognised in Grade 7, while S Harindra and Ruthva received the honour in Grade 8.

Adding to this achievement, eleven learners earned Certificates of Distinction, awarded to students who secured a place among the top 25% of participants globally. The distinction holders included Shinwoo Kim, Anirudh Vijaykrishnan, Jayanshu Jalan, Ananya Jammi, Reyhan Radha, Samar Ram, Siddha Kurinji, and Manvitha Navin from Grade 7, along with Sahana Radhakrishnan and S Harindra from Grade 8.

Beyond the recognition, these accomplishments reflect the learners’ ability to approach complex problems with curiosity, perseverance, and critical thinking. Their success in an internationally benchmarked assessment highlights their confidence in engaging with mathematical challenges and their commitment to continuous learning.
