Shiv Nadar School Shines at the 8th NYC Green School Conference 2024
Shiv Nadar School proudly represented India on the global stage at the 8th NYC Green School Conference 2024, held at Cornell University, New York on September 23 & 24, 2024. This prestigious conference, themed “Addressing Global Challenges Through Greening Education,” gathered international leaders in sustainability and education to explore the crucial role schools play in shaping a sustainable future.
Our Director Principal, Mrs. Anju Wal, delivered a keynote address on “Sustainability as a Driving Principle at Shiv Nadar School,” where she presented the school’s pioneering initiatives in sustainability, including:
- Zero Hunger Programs
- Waste Management Strategies
- Environmentally Balanced Architecture
- Energy Efficiency Measures
- The Transformation of a Former Sewage Dump into a Thriving Green Forest with 8,000 Trees
These initiatives are integral to both the physical and educational framework of Shiv Nadar School, helping students build a meaningful connection with nature. The transformation of a former sewage dump into a green forest stands as a symbol of the school's commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability.
Mrs. Wal was accompanied by Dr. Vandana Marda, Director of Brand Marketing and Admissions at Shiv Nadar School, who was also a keynote speaker at the conference. Dr. Marda played a pivotal role in presenting these significant sustainability efforts, further highlighting the school’s innovative approach to integrating environmental consciousness within its educational philosophy.
This moment of recognition on an international platform is a testament to the visionary leadership and the collective efforts of the Shiv Nadar School community.
We look forward to continuing this journey towards a greener future and we extend our gratitude to our community for their ongoing support.
