New star on our horizon - Zara Anand

Zara was introduced to the game of golf at the young age of 4 when she used to accompany her father to the Golf Driving range in Delhi. Over the last 6 years, she has developed her skills as a golfer and now plays competitive golf and is counted amongst top golfers, both nationally & internationally in her age category. She has competed in over 125 tournaments in India & Abroad and has a collection of over 100 medals, trophies and certificates of achievement. Zara has finished in Top 3 in European Championship in Scotland, has won the Florida State Championship and has finished amongst top 30 competitors in the World Championship. Locally she has won over 100 tournaments held by prominent golf tours including US Kids Golf, Albatross, Indian Golf Union etc.

Using golf as a platform and an opportunity to give back to the society, Zara has also hosted a charity tournament with proceeds raised donated for the “upliftment of the girl child” as a cause.

As she turns 11, Zara makes an early start to the day with 14 hour of activities including academics and sports. She is blessed to find a coach who still continues to be with her in her golfing journey and her school’s academic support which allows her the flexibility to manage her time effectively. Introduction of technology is helping her manage her academic workload remotely, allowing her to stay abreast with her academics. Apart from golf, she enjoys Gymnastics, Swimming and has also learnt Skiing during the winters.
