KNMA Exhibition 'Amidst the Stars'
The second edition of “Amidst the Stars”, the student-led exhibition of artworks were held at the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, Noida on January 21, 2020. Selected student artists from Forms 3–6 showcased their artwork after going through a rigorous process of selection. This is in keeping with our vision to provide students an environment that challenges them into discovering their talent and skills, and to inspire the joy of learning by fostering a culture of creativity. This year’s theme 'City of My Dreams' was inspired by the desire to align ourselves with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, with a specific focus on Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.
Children learn best by observing their surroundings and are able to express their observations by way of skills that they acquire in art classes. This year, the children were encouraged to take a closer look at their surroundings and.share their perspectives on the cities they live in. The result was a startling display of artwork that depicted the cities they had envisioned for themselves, a far cry from the current reality. Most of the material used in the displays was recycled waste, in line with our goals for sustainability.
Ms. Usha Garodia and Ms. Kanupriya Maheshwari from our parent community were the guests of honor. They are celebrated artists who have won many awards in their respective fields. Ms. Garodia is a sculptor and Ms. Maheshwari has won accolades in dance. The exhibition was open to parents, staff and students of Shiv Nadar School on January 21 and 22, 2020. Students were amazed at the ingenuity of the creations and appreciated the displays put up by their peers. The message of sustainability was clearly communicated through the artworks and left an impression on their young minds.
