Shiv Nadar School’s endeavour has been to promote different art forms, be it dance, music or visual arts. We invited the famous Odissi dancer, Ms. Vidushi Kavita Dwibedi, who captivated the young audience with her graceful movements and expressions. She started with a small introduction to the Odissi dance form, one of the oldest surviving dance forms of India. History tells us that like some of it’s contemporaries, Odissi too was a temple dance performed by the "Devdasis". The "tribhangi", i.e., the independent movement of the head, chest and pelvis is what sets this dance form apart.
