The Seeds of Learning: Listening Walk

To explore the environment using our auditory senses, the students of Nursery along with their teachers went for a Listening walk in the school premises. The purpose of the walk was to develop their listening skills. The children heard the story ‘The Listening Walk’ by Paul Showers. They put on their listening ears, a piece of craft created with paper cutouts of ears and a hairband and went for a walk within the school premises. They listened to different sounds in the environment and had to identify them. Back in the classroom post a discussion they illustrated the different sounds they heard. An enriching activity, thoroughly enjoyed by the children.
