From the serene wilds of India to the iconic halls of the Natural History Museum in London, Shreyovi Mehta, a Grade 5 student at Shiv Nadar School Faridabad, has etched her name in history as the youngest Indian to be recognized in the prestigious BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. At just 9 years old, Shreyovi's incredible talent and passion for wildlife photography have earned her the title of Runner-Up in the 10 Years and Under category of this globally renowned competition.
Shreyovi's captivating photograph, titled "In the Spotlight," captures two Indian peafowls standing opposite each other, their silhouettes beautifully framed by the misty backdrop of Keoladeo National Park in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. This image, taken during a misty winter morning, exudes a painterly quality, showcasing her keen eye for detail and perfect timing.
While walking through the forest with her parents, Shreyovi spotted the peafowls and instantly recognized the potential for a perfect shot. She quickly ran back to her father to retrieve the camera and, with determination and skill, captured this magical moment from a low angle. Her photograph, now recognized on the global stage, is a testament to her budding talent in wildlife photography.
The BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition is often referred to as the "Oscars of Wildlife Photography," attracting over 50,000 entries from 95 countries worldwide. Shreyovi's achievement not only highlights her individual talent but also brings pride to India, making her the youngest Indian to achieve this honor.
Shreyovi will represent the young photographers at an exclusive press preview, and her award-winning photograph will be featured at the media preview of the Natural History Museum’s prestigious exhibition. The grand award ceremony will take place in London on October 8, 2024, where Shreyovi will be celebrated among the world's top wildlife photographers.

Shiv Nadar School Faridabad Student Achieves Success at National Car Racing Championship 2024
Shiv Nadar School Faridabad is pleased to announce the achievements of Muskaan Jubbal Grade 12, a young racer who recently competed in the MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Car Racing Championship July 2024. The event took place at the Madras International Circuit, Chennai, where Muskaan demonstrated her racing skills as the youngest participant in the competition.
Muskaan's performance was commendable as she competed against experienced drivers and secured strong results in all three races:
- Race 1: Best Rookie
- Race 2: 2nd Runner Up
- Race 3: 2nd Runner Up
Her podium finishes in two of the races and recognition as Best Rookie highlight her potential in the field of car racing. Competing in a mixed grid with more experienced drivers, Muskaan’s achievements reflect her dedication and talent for the sport.

Avantika's Triumph at Gaudium Sportopia Gymnastics Tournament
Avantika Shri Bhatia, a Grade 1 student Shiv Nadar School Faridabad, demonstrated her remarkable skills at the 1st Gaudium Sportopia All India Level-Wise Gymnastics Tournament, held at The Gaudium School, Hyderabad, on July 27th and 28th. Competing in the Level 1 category, Avantika delivered outstanding performances, earning three gold medals and a silver medal. Her achievements highlight her dedication, precision, and passion for gymnastics. We are incredibly proud of Avantika's accomplishments and look forward to witnessing her continued success in the future.
Tavish Pahwa Shines in National and International Tennis Championships
Tavish Pahwa, a Grade 8 student from Shiv Nadar School Faridabad, has achieved remarkable success in the tennis world. In May, Tavish won both the Singles and Doubles titles at the U-16 Clay Court National Championship in Kolhapur. Not stopping there, he also secured the Singles and Doubles titles at the U-14 Asian Grade A Championship in Hyderabad the same month.
Currently ranked 3rd in the Asian Under-14 category by the ATF (Asian Tennis Federation), Tavish is a proud member of the Grand Slam Player Development Programme of the International and Asian Tennis Federation (GSPDP/ITF/ATF). This prestigious program has given him the opportunity to represent Asia at the Tennis Europe tournaments in July and August. During this period, he will compete in three tournaments in France and one in Germany.
Adding to his impressive achievements, Tavish will also represent India at the World Junior Tennis Championship in Prostejov, Czechia, from August 5th to 10th. India's qualification for this prestigious event marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time in five years the team has reached this stage, thanks to their outstanding performance at the Asia Oceania qualifying round in March.

Avisha Arya's Remarkable Achievements in Chess
Avisha Arya from 2 Gir, Shiv Nadar School Faridabad, has made the school proud with her outstanding performance in chess at both state and inter-school levels. Avisha secured the 6th position in the Haryana State Chess Championship held in Gurgaon from May 28th to May 30th, 2024, earning a medal for her commendable efforts. Demonstrating her exceptional skills, Avisha also participated in the Board Masters Chess Tournament at The Millennium School Noida on July 7th, 2024. She impressively clinched the 3rd position, winning a trophy, medal, and certificate. Furthermore, Avisha was honored with an additional trophy for being the youngest player in the tournament. Her achievements reflect her dedication and passion for chess, setting a remarkable example for her peers. Kanav Nagpal Excels in International Euclid Mathematics Contest
We are proud to announce that Kanav Nagpal from Grade 12 has achieved remarkable success in the prestigious Euclid Mathematics Contest, conducted by The Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC) at the University of Waterloo. This international-level contest challenges senior secondary students with complex and novel mathematical problems, requiring creativity and comprehensive knowledge. Kanav's exceptional performance, scoring 72%, surpasses the distinction criteria of 70%, earning him a Certificate of Distinction and a medal.
The Euclid contest's mix of short-answer and full-solution questions allows participants to effectively communicate their mathematical thinking and build perseverance, a key component of problem-solving. Kanav's accomplishment not only highlights his mathematical prowess but also makes him eligible for the Faculty of Mathematics Entrance Scholarships at the University of Waterloo. Celebrating Maira Verma's Fencing Triumphs!
Maira Verma from Grade 4, Gir won a Bronze Medal in the under-10 Girls National Fencing Championship held in Odisha on June 17, 2024. Prior to this, she clinched a Gold Medal in the under-10 Girls State Level Championship (Delhi NCR) on May 26, 2024. Her dedication, hard work, and passion for fencing have truly paid off.

Shiv Nadar School Faridabad Students Selected for Prestigious International Internship
We are proud to announce that our Grade 12 IBDP Shiv Nadar School Faridabad students, Hrit Gupta and Raghav Garg, have been selected for the Indian Youth Nuclear Society’s prestigious International Internship Program. They will intern at the ITER Organisation in France, a leading energy project focused on demonstrating the feasibility of fusion power as a large-scale, carbon-free energy source.
During their internship, Hrit and Raghav will explore Virtual Reality Engineering and Diagnostics Technology, mentored by top experts. This experience will enrich their understanding of global collaboration, clean energy, and advanced technology, paving the way for their future successes.
