Champion in the Making: Aruj's Story in Skating and Chess

Aruj Sahai student of Grade 1 ‘Kanha', has been honing his skills in both skating and chess since the tender age of 4.5 years. His dedication and hard work are now bearing fruit as he continues to achieve remarkable feats in both disciplines.

In the realm of skating, Aruj's recent triumphs have been particularly noteworthy. On December 3, 2023, he clinched the Silver Medal in the 7th Haryana Ice Skating Championship at the State level, securing a spot in the prestigious 'Nationals' in the Speed Skating category for 6-8 years. This success follows his earlier Gold Medal victory in the Faridabad Ice Skating Championship on November 26, 2023, at the District level, earning him qualification for the State competition.

Aruj's prowess extends to roller skating as well. His stellar performance in the 36th District Roller Skating Championship in Faridabad on October 28, 2023, where he won two Gold Medals, showcased his excellence in the Inline Speed category for 5-7 years. This achievement propelled him to the State level. Notably, his success is not confined to the district, as demonstrated by his dual Silver Medal win in the 1st Haryana State Open Zonal Roller Skating Championship on October 2, 2023.

In the realm of chess, Aruj has also demonstrated his strategic acumen. His recent achievements include securing the 3rd position in the 4th Genius Chess Tournament in Ghaziabad and attaining the 2nd position in the 16th District Inter-School Chess tournament in Faridabad. Even earlier, on September 15, 2023, he finished 6th out of 21 participants in the District Chess Championship in the category of 5-7 years.

Aruj's multifaceted success in both skating and chess not only reflects his individual talent but also underscores his potential to make a mark at the national level. His journey is a testament to the early nurturing of his skills and his unwavering commitment to excellence.

Success at Bal Kala Utsav National Monoacting Competition

Ada Khemka student of Grade 12 secured the first position in Monoacting (Drama) at the national-level competition, "Bal Kala Utsav," held in New Delhi. The event, organized by SUNAINA, recognized her exceptional talent in conveying a compelling narrative through monoacting.

Naraaini Bahl, a grade 9 student, also displayed commendable skills, securing the third position in the competition.

Sports Day - Early Years 2023

With high spirits and energy, the Early Years successfully concluded their Annual Sports Day 2023 which revolved around the theme ‘We love Animals’. After days of dedicated practice, our young learners enthusiastically performed various activities where they honed their skills in agility, balance, orientation, rhythm, and reaction. The event commenced with an opening address from our Director Principal, Ms. Anju Wal followed by a warm welcome and felicitation of our Chief Guest, Mr. Karan Vashisht. The children from all three grades showcased their physical development through Music and Movement performances. Different theme-based races were curated, which were age-appropriate. It was a pleasure to see all the children participate with zeal and ardour. The event concluded with a true spirit of sportsmanship as the children participating were all recognized as winners and awarded a gold medal.

National Unity Day Assembly: Celebrating Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's Legacy

 

Grade 8 students from Corbett and Sariska came together to organize a remarkable National Unity Day Assembly, marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as the "Iron Man of India." This event took place at Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad, North Block in WCH and was specially arranged for Middle and Senior school students which showcased a rich tapestry of performances and presentations, all centered around the theme of unity.

The assembly began with a solemn prayer that set the tone for the day, followed by the sharing of an insightful thought of the day and a current news update, highlighting the significance of unity and awareness as responsible citizens. The thought-provoking messages were a prelude to the unity-themed program that followed.

Students presented inspiring Hindi and English poems that eloquently conveyed the concept of unity, showcasing the power of poetry in bringing people together. These heartfelt verses resonated with the audience, underscoring the importance of unity in our lives.

Kimayra then took the stage to enlighten the audience with scientific facts behind the creation of the Statue of Unity, a fitting tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Her presentation shed light on the significance of this monumental statue, serving as a beacon of unity and remembrance.

Artistic expression played a pivotal role in the assembly, with Kurush and Ahaan sharing their perspective through a remarkable painting. Their artwork symbolized unity, and its visual impact left an indelible mark on the audience, reinforcing the theme of togetherness.

A mesmerizing mime performance followed, leaving the audience spellbound. This non-verbal portrayal beautifully conveyed the message that unity transcends religious divides and that a nation's strength lies in its unity. It was a powerful reminder that actions often speak louder than words.

Aditya and Vivaan's band performance added a musical touch to the assembly, featuring the harmonious sync of piano and guitar.

The news segment presented by Grade 8 students from Corbett and Sariska was both informative and thought-provoking. It highlighted the potential for a world without war when world leaders come together in unity, showcasing the importance of diplomacy and cooperation on the global stage.

The assembly also featured a captivating dance performance by the girls from Grade 8 Corbett and Sariska. Their dance promoted the concept of harmony, both in their graceful movements and in life, providing a visually stunning representation of unity in motion.

Myra Gupta, a student of Grade 5 has demonstrated remarkable initiative in supporting the Myra Foundation NGO, dedicated to fostering self-reliance among children. At the recent exhibition held at Apeejay School Sector 15 on 5th November 2023, Myra displayed her collection of paintings crafted over the past three years. With 36 out of 39 paintings sold, she raised approximately 21000, covering her expenses for framing and stall rent. Her independent management of the entire event is truly commendable.

Shiv Nadar School Faridabad Excels at CBSE Chess Tournament

Shiv Nadar School Faridabad's U-11 Boys' team showcased remarkable talent at the CBSE Chess Tournament, North Zone-2, hosted at LA BLOSSOMS SCHOOL, JALANDHAR, from 20th to 23rd October 2023. Despite tough competition from Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and J&K schools, they secured the prestigious 2nd Runner-up position. The team members, Jayansh Dhingra (5th, Gir), Adhyansh Tandon (5th, Corbett), Parth Kohli (3rd, Kanha), and the youngest Pranit Rastogi (1st, Kanha), exhibited exceptional sportsmanship. Notably, Pranit's inspiring comeback from an injury minutes before the final match earned them accolades from the Host School during the prize ceremony.
