Aruj Sahai

Shiv Nadar School Faridabad proudly congratulates Aruj Sahai of Grade 4 Kanha for his remarkable achievements in chess at the interschool, district and state levels.

Most recently, the Faridabad District Boys Chess Team won the Gold Medal in the U-11 category at the SGFI State Competition held in Panipat on 1st November 2026. The district team was selected through the SGFI U-11 district-level tournament, where only the top five players earn a place. Aruj was selected for the second consecutive year, having been part of the district team last year as well. The team also included Pranit Rastogi and Viraj Veer Singh from Shiv Nadar School. Aruj played a crucial role in the team’s victory, winning 4 out of 5 games and helping Faridabad become the State Champion.

Earlier, Aruj delivered an outstanding performance at the DPSG Cup U9 Interschool Chess Tournament, where he secured the 1st Position and emerged as champion. Representing the school, he won all 5 rounds, showing exceptional focus, strategy and consistency.

He also participated in the 30th Haryana State Chess Championship in the Under 9 category, held in Jhajjar district on 9th and 10th May 2026. Competing against nearly 90 players from across Haryana, Aruj secured 4th Position in the state with a score of 5.5/7 and was awarded a cash prize of ₹1,500. Entering the tournament as one of the top-rated players in his category, he showed great composure and determination throughout a highly competitive field.

Aruj’s achievements reflect his dedication, discipline and strong competitive spirit at a young age. We congratulate Aruj, Pranit and Viraj, along with their families, and wish them continued success in the tournaments ahead.
