Round Square Postcard on Ways to Speak your truth from The British Overseas School in Pakistan

Speak Your Truth was a language based Round square Event, where the shortlisted students were asked to prepare about the expression and the medium they feel comfortable with when they have to express their thoughts and emotions. Students came up with some expressive written pieces for the event. Ms. Nadia Khan, a leading Pakistani designer was on the panel and she talked about her journey to fame through her work. She talked about the medium she felt most comfortable with as her channel of expression-her designs. Her journey was quite inspirational and our students had some takeaways. Ms. Khan later also opened the forum for some questions where our students asked her some insightful questions and she replied to them (pictures of the questions asked attached below). The discussion was moderated by the students and then later on the students were sent to separate breakout rooms where they interacted with their peers from world over. They discussed about their own medium of expression and participated in ice breaking activities. The experience was an enriching one interacting with the guest speaker as well as students from all over the world.

Celebrating 77 Years of India's Independence with Pride

We are thrilled to share the joyous moments we experienced during our 77th Independence Day celebration here at Shiv Nadar School, Chennai. This marked our first major event of the academic year, and it was a heartwarming testament to the spirit of unity and patriotism that thrives within our school community.

Our Principal, Ms. Padmini Sambasivam’s address set the tone for the day, encapsulating the essence of this historic occasion. Her words resonated deeply with both our students and parents, emphasizing the significance of our shared history and the responsibilities that come with the privilege of being a part of this great nation.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the student performances. With a touch of humour that had parents guffawing, our students narrated and enacted the inspiring story of Velu Nachiyar – a brave queen from Tamil Nadu who championed our freedom struggle. The portrayal was not just a performance; it was a vivid depiction of courage and determination that left an indelible mark on everyone present.

The air was charged with patriotism as our young voices echoed through the corridors, singing soul-stirring patriotic songs in three different languages, English, Hindi and Tamil. It was a true representation of the diversity that unites us as Indians. The energy reached a crescendo when our spirited dancers took the stage, capturing hearts with their vibrant moves to the iconic "Jai Ho" song.

The heartwarming part of the celebration was seeing our parents fully immersed in the festivities. As they enjoyed the show, we noticed the warmth of camaraderie filling the atmosphere as parents shared conversations and laughter, strengthening the bonds of our school community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our students, parents, and staff members for making this day so memorable. As we look back on this joyous occasion, let us remember that the spirit of independence lives within each of us.  Let us continue to honor the sacrifices of our forefathers by nurturing the values of freedom, unity, and progress

Nurturing Diplomacy and Advocacy: Reflecting on SNSFMUN 2023

The Fourth Edition of the Shiv Nadar School Faridabad Model United Nations Conference, in association with Alma College, Michigan, continues to allow our young delegates to consider and deliberate on conflicting and diverse ideas, broaden their horizons, and push the boundaries of thought and knowledge.

In a world marked by diversity, progress, and interconnectedness, the concept of human rights stands as a cornerstone of justice and equality. Human rights are the pivot of human dignity.

In our committees at Shiv Nadar School Faridabad Model United Nations 023, we encourage dialogue and critical thinking to promote awareness and understanding of human rights issues. The three-week-long training sessions that will culminate on August 4–5, 2023, will always remain with the student participants and continue to play a role in their dialogues on relevant platforms.

As the Secretariat, it has been a learning experience for us, keeping in mind the diversity of tasks, managing our personal schedules, and liaising with the international interns vis-à-vis the delegates, both from our school as well as outside. We have become adept at website design, managing social media platforms, answering numerous queries, and making decisions that we never thought we could. We have been heard. And we hope to instill this feeling in everyone involved in this experiential journey called SNSFMUN ‘23.
